I remember when Obama was elected - I'm a white dude and it was a big day for me (I was a kid in my defense and completely ignorant about politics) and remember driving around thinking what a monumentous day it was playing My President by Young Jeezy. Everyone thought shit was going to change and that it was the start of a new era (it didn't change but you know what I mean). Obama represented charisma, youth, change - people loved him. His celebrity status was absolute. He was a beacon, an icon, a symbol of hope. Obviously we know how it ended up turning out but at the time what I'm saying is that the first black man becoming president was such a huge fucking deal - as it rightfully should have been - and people forget just how insane it was.

It's going to be fucking hilarious when the first woman president - something that should also be an equally huge deal - gets there with a shrug and a technicality because she was tacked on a ticket for her tokenism. zero charisma, goofy, no support. And Kamala being the first woman president is going to take that moment away FOREVER for any future good woman candidate. Which is hilarious. But fuck American women, its what they deserve anyway.

I've long been of the mind that the white-hot anger at Trump and ANYTHING conservative/populist is displaced anger over the fact that this, the greatest achievement of the 20th Century, a black President, and all the hope and specialness and entering Utopia at last they claimed it was? All turned out to be a nothingburger in the end.

The economy never boomed, overseas wars didn't stop, there was no signature legislation except Obamacare that got dismantled immediately after he left office, racial tensions got worse, crime got worse, unemployment got worse, students didn't get their promised six figure jobs to pay off those loans, banks didn't stop being usurious, Federal agencies got more committed to harassing citizens who weren't in support of the Admin, regulations got harder to comply with, three-letter-agencies got more militant.... far from what was promised, they got a "new normal" that was all a hollow sham propped up by media and celebrities, a gilded pile of shit to anyone who poked it.

And most importantly, those dang dirty conservatives and racists and Bible-thumpers and hicks didn't curl up and die and then dissolve into sticky black puddles that ran into the gutters and were gone forevermore like we were promised if we ever elected a black man.

All that "hard work" and hurt feelings, and all those times we almost literally died when the internet called us names, and it ultimately accomplished nothing.

And instead of blaming their parents, teachers and favorite movie stars for pumping sunshine up their butts all their life, they turned on the "real" culprits - the ones to blame when EVERY socialist/leftist plan that promises free money and cake goes awry - those treacherous insufficiently-passionate peasants and plebs who sabotaged the whole thing!!!!

Whitmer and Newsom are the only true options they have and I can't see Newsom doing well when you look at the absolute state of California. Whitmer might have a chance, but she doesn't have the name recognition of Newsom or Biden and if you want to stoke the "girl power" narrative shit again, then you need that campaign infrastructure in place well in advance to mobilize the vote.

No you misunderstand, they didn't set the report up. The cover they are running is the press conference and the spin they have asked for the media to do. They think that they can just bury the actual report by having reporters lie and hide it because "oh no one is gonna actually read the documents, TV is the news".

Bernie threw in the towel in 2020, when they were neck and neck after Super Tuesday. They literally just handed the nomination to Biden without requiring him to debate or appear in public in front of more than five people at a time.

That happened AFTER the DNC just broke it off in Bernie’s ass with some unfaithful delegate scheme for Hillary in 2016.

For Bernie not to straight up quit the democrat party, he has to be in on it. That’s how the DNC works, Donna Brazile didn’t even think it was weird to email Hillary debate questions and Debbie Wasserman Schultz had no problem with Imran Awan having a no-show job with access to the Capitol computer systems and then fleeing to Pakistan.
