My first taste was with CoD3 and WaW and those two were the start of the golden age of CoD
Same here, actually; WaW was my favorite. I kept my old PS3 just for that one, actually.
Cold war was sick and despite that one sniper being super OP, the theme and presentation was extremely high quality. Really had a great time with the campaign. Need more 70s themed games instead of the 1950s Bioshock and Fallout bullshit that's run it's course.
Kinda wondering if I should give BO3 and Black Ops Cold War another go. I mean, I tried them both out a while back, but neither of them really felt all that great to me, personally. I admit, I mostly focused on the Multiplayer mode of each; Campaign I mostly left by the wayside, while Zombies ended up being something of a side-activity.
Thing is, the multiplayer modes of both games felt crammed full of sweats; yeah, the games are a bit old at this point, but neither of them really felt like games you could sit down and grab a pint while playing. BO3 was crammed fun of high-level lobbies flying around and using the Olympia or Brecci, which made experimentation a bit rough. Meanwhile, Cold War's gunplay just felt a bit... off, compared to other games; really don't know how to explain it, but something about the gunplay just felt weird compared to other games in the series, and it kept messing me up.
Meanwhile, the Zombies mode in both games didn't feel all that fun, either. Admittedly, part of it was honestly probably just me getting way too burnt out on Zombies from the BO2 days - I spent
so long doing nothing more than playing MotD, Origins, Buried, even Tranzit - but BO3 and Cold War just failed to capture my interest in the same way BO2 did. Granted, I only ever played the base maps; I was hesitant on picking up the DLC for BO3 in case I didn't like it, and I admittedly just never got around to giving Cold War's other maps a try due to a number of factors.
I dunno. Anyone have any suggestions, advice to give? Should I give one - or both - of the games another go?
