we have wasted a lot more money on shit like propping up third world shitholes and funding the occasional revolution or war than we did the space race because the space program accomplished good and the other shit just stretched our resources and created chaos.
I am fully in favor of sending all the negroid criminals on a one way trip to Liberia and cutting off all foreign aid. That will certainly give us enough funds to get a moon base going.
The DNC literally crushed blacks and yet blacks keep voting for them.
Proof that they are not the same species as Whites or East Asians.
The homo erectus DNA is dominant and asserts itself in carriers.

It took upwards of a full century before the north american colonies were even remotely self-sufficient.
If we're going to colonize space it's going to be easily that long of continuous investment.
Human space colonization is an absolute meme--there's buttfuck nothing there for us.
However, there's an asteroid out there with some odd $700 Quadrillion worth of gold, just chilling out in the asteroid belt. If you could tap it, and offload the gold slowly enough to not crash the market, your country could be and stay the richest in the world for generations.

That's because all these low-IQ types that scream about funding social programs with no return at the expense of the space program aren't capable of understanding how much technology gets developed by the space program that ends up trickling down into products for everyday use.

Fun fact: it is calculated that NASA is the only federal agency to ever turn a profit exactly because of this. Depending on how you calculate and how deep you wanna look into it the number changes but even the most conservative estimates put it at 1.10 USD made for every 1 USD spent.

Human colonization is literally the best guarantee of survival of our species you nigger. You don't have to terraform a entire planet, just have a few bases and O'Neill cylinders as backup.

Also Gold is good but the real insane profits from asteroid mining are on platinum metal group resources that are super important for industrial applications alongside rare earths. It's why Elon is so big into it, he could become the first public Trillionaire doing it.

The Democrats are trying a tactic they've been using for about 6 years now with very limited success... but it's all they have left, and it works with their base (or at least the ChatGPT bots they have flooding Twitter to try to create artificial consensus / narrative):

Trump locked down the country and destroyed the economy, Trump tried to rig an election in 2020 via Mail in Voting, Republicans are the ones keeping the border open, Trump's admin paid for the Wuhan bioweapon labs that were ran by retarded Chinks (but I repeat myself), Republicans destroyed the economy, President Trump was the one holding documents insecurely in his garage, Republicans are the ones with ties to Russian oligarchs, and that dastardly President Trump keeps having age related gaffes.

Biden Admin? Problems? NO U.
Wait until Jon Stewart Lebiowitz does his show on Monday lol.

There's a famous photo out there of an obese black bitch proestor with a sign that says something like 'millions for space, no money for food'. Not that she ever looked like she missed a meal.

Wait until Jon Stewart Lebiowitz does his show on Monday lol.

Yeah, definitely tuning in to see an elderly jew make stupid faces at the camera while the studio lemmings squeal and clap.

@MirrorNoir
This is the big thing to always remember about the invasion of Ukraine; Putin could have had the country conquered already but has had to fight the war with one hand tied behind his back purely for the fact that a full-on invasion would have triggered the world war that the rest of the world is itching for and give them the excuse to invade Russian and kill Putin.
With Russia being a nuclear power nobody was going to invade it. With the expectation Putin and the other guy will push that button to launch the nukes at the offending parties. Secondly which other nation(s) going to fight under Putin's command in order to make this a world war instead of a multination gangbanging a single nation?

It would actually be more comforting to see signs of behind-the-scenes puppet masters somewhere. Maybe they take weekends off?

There's a reason that the image of the shadowy mastermind subtly pulling all the strings is so popular, it is infinitely preferable to the truth, which is that nobody is control. The most powerful people in the world are not unified, they are not in control, and forces outside of human influence drive all events completely outside the reach of individuals or civilizations. Chaos reigns on the fallen earth, we are all as flotsam in the storm of circumstance, and only baseline causality and physics gives us comfort in its powerful purity and precision.

God rules in Heaven, and of this we are sure, for only wickedness and demons rampage here.

And I'm not just talking about Velcro. Just looking up a simple list showed:
Man, I'd like to know what will happen with technology if NASA received the same amount of money as the DoD.

11. The Space Pen
(The Smithsonian Air and Space Museum has tons of them for sale. They are missing a huge opportunity though to not also sell the Russian Space Pen:

"to rejekt da false no-cione"
oh yea, between that and the janky body movement, she's totally fucked up
She'd have the Wine Aunt Vote locked up.

Then again, if they get her drunk before all her public appearances, she might come across as more charming and likeable...

Man, I'd like to know what will happen with technology if NASA received the same amount of money as the DoD.
Nothing good. Half the reason they invented the shit they did was because their budget was so shoestring compared to their mission goals, that they really had to eke out every last bit of brainpower per dollar to find betters ways to do it. If they had a budget as outsized to their goals as the DoD has, they wouldn't have bothered with half the shit they've found out. Why worry about reliability on space probes when you can just throw six out and not even worry about the cost? They can't all fail.

Modern NASA is more interested in publishing useless papers to advance academic careers (at best) and muslim outreach/training black female astronauts (at worst) than in opening up the final frontier.

Their budget should be cut to zero; SpaceX can replace them.

Seeing how NASA is a shell of its former self with its only recent achievement being the James Webb telescope, I think the future of space travel and development will be from private companies. SpaceX is already leading the charge with their reusable booster stuff. The next space race is gonna be an energy race.

Kamala seems to be coping with how things are going pretty well. I suppose I'd be getting drunk too, if I were working in the White House.

any gop who agrees with red flag laws need to beaten over the head with this clip that it's so fucking bad Kamala brings it up alongside common sense gun grabbing

Considering SpaceX was succesful on their trial test to redirect an asteroid course i wouldn't be surprised if the tech to pull asteroids out of the belt and crash them into the American nuclear test sites for resources is within the century, it'd be a massive boon being able to just pull steel and other rare minerals out of space

Part of the reason why it took that long was that Britain prevented the Americas from having any local manufacturing capabilities and forces them to export raw good to Britain to be processed. Blacksmiths had to memorize the blueprints of a Cotten Jenny because any paper blueprints would've been confiscated.

If colonies are given the rights to manufacture what they need locally they will be up and running so much better. Especially if everything they need to get up and running is included on the first shipment.

yeah naturally occurring steel is pretty uncommon

Good thing the re-entry heat turns the iron into steel. IIRC most of those iron asteroids also have a fair bit of nickel in them, which is the most essential alloying element for modern high-quality steel. There's a reason that way back when meteoric iron was so highly prized as sword material, almost to the point of being mythologized.

We need to find a way to revive Wernher von Braun. He likely has some very interesting ideas on what to do with nearly a trillion bucks a year. "Ja, ja, let's build zhis very large chamber, and then we fill that wiz salt water wiz a very specific salt content and then we use fissible materials and force that through there, through zhese pipes here, that will boil the water until zhe hydrogen seperates and zhat will create zhe thrust over here and pushes zhe spacecraft forward..."

Listen, I'm a simple man, I just want my retrofuturistic space-solar-atompunk future stuff.
