General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Natsume Moe shows up once every few months with a new model crying that she's got some sort of horrible disease or is poor and begs for money. She then scams a bunch of people for money, gets called out for it, vanishes, and uses the money to buy a new model to begin the cycle again.
Wrong person, retard.

Imagine hiring 8 lawyers to sue some anons who told her to act her age.
Her 5 arguments according to the thread on leddit :story::
you laugh, but remember this is japanese law. they do things differently: https://www.tofugu.com/japan/sued-in-japan/

Do people even know that many black vtubers? The only two I know is DreamyKiwi (a literal 2view) and Mixie Mixin (also flaVR 2view).
>be black
>non-black model
>get called an uncle tom

>be white
>black model
>get called wearing blackface

not even sure how that shit's supposed to work without facedoxxing yourself. inb4 AI generated image or a "transracial" vtuber...

What if the only reason its available online with a single click is because someone else doxxed it?
If the person who posted it actually went trough the trouble of getting sensitive private information safeguarded by the goverment then yeah that's when doxing laws apply.
But that's rarely the case, shit like full name, age, adress and phone numbers are in any local phone book you can find and most of the time you don't even need to get a phone book because the internet has forgotten the old golden rule of "don't post personal information on the net".
And given their roles as vtubers they sometimes talk about who they are, what they do or who they are related to on a constant basis from there people can just connect the dots and find out who they are.
This is just the reality of becoming a public figure/celibrity. If you're scared of random people stalking you then your best bet is to pick any other profesion that doesn't involve you being on a stage and drawing a big crowd

Here's what stands out to me, it's not really a suicide note as much as it is a way to sway public opinion his way.

If I were suicidal I'd probably write my note and just off myself instead of whatever weird shit this is.

Realistically most actual suicidal people just do it when they hit the tipping point, they might leave a note but that won't be discovered until it's done and their body's been discovered. With Selen no one knew shit until we saw her tweet as Doki that she'd been hospitalized, there were rats that it was suicide but we still didn't know 100% that it was a suicide attempt until her big return stream.

Sawa-sama is mixed IRL, according to her. I'm not sure, but maybe Brown Idol is black or mixed.

You mean Nyaru? I think she's just Peruvian, not sure if full Peruvian (or I guess as "full" Peruvian as you can get given the Spanish conquistadors) or mixed. There's also Victoria Valerie from Specialite, she sounds black but she can speak well enough to not be in ebonics mode.

Charlottexbear is another possibly, she's always used a dark-skinned model and has herself themed around being a black bear.

you are thinking of Nekomata Mel; she' strongly followed by her /vt/ schizos and frequently tracked down whenever she tries to rebrand herself.
Speaking of, has recently returned; they're also identifying her as the one making the rape accusations about Ike.

Phase Connect's unofficial video essayist came out with his take on Phase Connect's recent rise to prominence. I think he misses some things but for the most part I think what he says is pretty fair. I'm still of two minds about Phase Connect's growth. On the one hand I really liked the older more unhinged and informal content that Pippa would do back in the day and I recognize the importance of gatekeeping one's hobbies so that outsiders don't flood in and ruin it. On the other, I also know that this is not a sustainable business model and am genuinely happy for the talents having made it so far. I don't think they've lost their edge, nor do I think it will ever fully go away, but it is being dulled and will likely become duller in the furure. Gone are the days of the Rage stream and Shiina's KF sponsored burka and I'm not entirely sure how to feel about it. Hell, as much as I like Clara, her being hired by Phase is a huge step in the "idol" direction with her being a professional singer and a bridge into the Japanese market. I will say that I'm not as optimistic as other Phase fans. I think it will take a lot of growth on their part and a lot more fucking up on Niji's part before it can realistically be expected for them to pick up their leftovers, let alone replace them as one of the biggest vtuber agencies. For now I think it is safe to say that they are the pioneers (arguably along with Idol) of the newly emerging middle market. How this came to be and where it will go from here I still have no idea but I'm glad to have been here with you all from the beginning to have witnessed it, even if I won't be watching as much as I used to.

A few corpos are organizing a Valentine karaoke relay. Here's Lottie's part.

Are you all ready for maximum
HAG LOVE?
Not really related to vtubers but I like the coincidence that many of us discovered Clara as Beryl while she was playing Chrono Trigger and now that she's back Vinny Vinesauce is replaying it.

Does anyone here know Ophelia Midnight's roommate account?

Asking for a friend.
Umi's new identity
https://twitter.com/KyokuUmi
https://www.youtube.com/@UmiKyoku
I also made other posts talking about vreverie's graduations and the rest of the girls' new identities. post 1,post 2, post 3 (some small corrections on post 3 about post 2). You won't find Kei's twitter account right now because she closes it and reopens every now and then because the company's staff is aware of the girls' side accounts
1707684360088.png
On a side note, their thread general in /vt/ has been renamed to /vrex/ as to continue to discuss the girls in both their corpo and indie accounts, and follow them past their respective/eventual graduations, similar to what /tsunx/ does about the Tsunderia girls.

SImilarly, Selen Tatsuki's general remains with the same name, /HAHA/, but now discusses Dokibird; also the board mods seem to be lenient about the board's rules of not discussing vtubers' previous live regarding selen and doki due to the amount of drama and discussion this drama has generated.

Last night, Lumi Tsukiboshi debuted. In their twitter bio, they list their real life identity as Diana Garnet, a big profile JP/EN voice over asrtist and singer. Has an amazing singing voice, does show it a lot through her debut.

Was looking for her account and just as J. Jonah Jameson said before, it's Kyoku Umi.
I never watched her before so I had no idea how she is. I scrolled through her twitter account and saw that she has a 2nd one for lewd content including irl coomer pics. I remembered that twitter handle from somewhere before and found that screenshot:

Judging from that she would fit Riifu's coomer vtuber agency perfectly. Is that normal for her?

much gratitude brother

Excellent point my good sir. People forget that Niji is a public company now. They have investors and shareholders to answer to, many of whom may have invested specifically because of Niji's overseas success. Any kind of contraction in the business is going to send them reeling and knocking on Niji's door and wondering why they failing to live up to their fiduciary duty.
iirc Niji dont pay shareholders ANY dividends, growth is all they have

That's it, here's my final video. You did this. I hope you're happy.
You are my friend. I like you. Don't disappoint me :)

I do broadly agree with you, but saying something is available online, does not immediately mean its doxxing. I like to play devil's advocate and make sure everyone's in check.

Do we have a source for Mikoneko's age other than the doxxing?
