Wiggerbrained retard logic: you can't have people editing the footage in a way that makes the show look bad, or a way that sells a narrative the producers don't approve of. Plus giving away the raw footage allows people to give it away to non-paypigs for free.
Actual non-retard logic: the more people editing the footage and posting it, the more attention the show gets. And it desperately needs fresh blood, nobody except weird spergs (us included) are watching this shit. Fan edits have the potential to bring a wider audience in for season 3.

Most likely the latter; cold storage is cheap but if you are requiring an active backup that people (not many) will want on demand downloads for, it gets expensive real quick to host that monthly.

They really should just host a torrent and spin up a seed box for like a month or two then just let other people eat the bandwidth costs

Do you remember that thing they had last season where you'd download the video file and you wouldn't be able to fast forward or rewind it because of how it was encoded? And then over a month later or so they got rid of all those files and updated the archive so the files were all normal and you could play them on the website

call me boring but I think that's what they're doing, minus the step where we have access to the unusable unencoded files

You can't stop people from filesharing. I think they figured they'd rather not spending the money but it wasn't "too expensive." The s1 archives were a pain to download in full due to terrible web design that I think was deliberate to reduce bandwidth costs.
I think the ultimate reason they opted not to do archives is it absolves them of having to scrub them on the fly when stuff happens, especially as this season was intended to be darker early on with the cult stuff. That's just my crazy thinking and is completely baseless but people should never forget they tried to run cover for their gay chigga friend by removing some of his drunk ramblings and actions from the archive while the show was ongoing and never acknowledged it.

They're retarded when it comes to video encoding, that's all it is. That process should have been streamlined between seasons but I doubt it was considered at all and don't expect them to share full archives from here on out as it's more convenient for them not to.
The confessional cam from season 1 ran on its own computer in the closet and was set up midway through and we got to see how they struggle to get things right, live on camera. The files and live footage were a disaster for over a week but they slowly fixed it throughout the show, though it was never good.

That said, they did fix the audio/video desync issues in season 2 and that was greatly appreciated.

I don't think so, they lack basic knowledge of the platforms they use (cloudflare and vercel).
I know their devs were outside of their timezone and given the attached screen (took me like 15 min to find both endpoints), they failed in the most basic of senses.

The above is fully avoidable if you just do a simple google search, but apparently that's too hard, or they just didn't know(?); if anyone on the team would have been competent, they would have at least done an IP whitelist on those endpoints, but they did not, you could easily log in and ooperate the website from the first link however I would be weary if you paid for access.
(this is most likely why redditors were able to DDoS them, since once you get around cloudflare you can just flood the base vercel ip until it chokes)

My thoughts on S1, I don't know where I said it, was that the thought of locally hosting entire archives of the show on their website is something that will hurt the wallet for the little benefit it provides most users, and I had hoped that offering S2 archives was a hint they had found some solution to manage costs but given the most recent information, they clearly don't want to pay. (from my point of view at least)

The impression I get, and I'm not a computers person so I don't really know, is that they used the same infrastructure they used last time and unless they change things from the ground up this is the best possible way for things to work. The security cameras output these MKV files, which don't fast forward, as the show goes. Last season you could grab them as soon as they went live, but they wouldn't fast forward. If they tried to encode them as the show went it'd probably fall behind, badly, which would piss people off, not to mention automating that is probably a bitch on its own.

basically option one is last season where they upload a huge archive of useless files that nobody would want to save long-term, or else anyone who downloads them has to encode them all themselves and then come back and fix it after the season, option three is they rework their entire setup so that the cameras are recording in a completely different way which doesn't produce MKVs but I'm pretty sure this requires them to not be security cameras at all. we're in the mid-step, option 2, where they hold on to the useless files and we have to wait until the season is over for them to get cleaned into usable files.

• When Summer starts to speak, Lance is surprised to see her. He was pissed off seeing her in the space and thought she will derail and ruin the space into all about herself and the mental health issue.

• He called Summer mental, idiot, deranged, and she should get out of the space.
• Summer is one of the lists that he would like to follow. But if he was put on the casting call, he would never pick her. He also mentioned that he once supported Summer during the show.
• He was kinda pissed off when the space turned into all about mental issues.
• Despite Jon and Summer saying they're not using mental illness as an excuse, he still thinks they're using it based on their action.
• When Jon is leaving, he flips out and blames Summer for getting Jon to leave the space.

There’s this really annoying podcaster/rapper?/clout shark guy on Twitter named Izzy N Griffin who interviewed summer as well running around trying to interview or clout farm off any fish tank clinger on he can. There’s an entire clout eco system that has developed around this shit of people desperate to be connected to Sam in some way.

This is all totally unrelated, but this is funny to me. I made this account to say I was interested in who izzy is because I've been in "the fishtank community" since it started and I've never heard of him and holy shit dude.
This guy is so fucking desperate for any type of fame.
