yep, not only is NB is the hip popular thing, but the aesthetic around trans, NB, and queer is also very hip. it's like getting a tattoo, a punk hair cut, or wearing certain styles of clothing. unfortunately the surgeries are way more permanent than any of those things and the reward/regret ratio is very high.

i dont want to doom post, but i suspect in a decade we are going to see a lot of these women, both pooners and the aesthetic kind, having tons of regrets.(and seeing how history repeats itself, men will get the bulk of the blame for it)

There's been a lot of suppression and denial, but the negative outcomes that are piling up behind our blind faith in biotech and social progress will eventually be acknowledged. In horror and anger. And yes, some cohort or ideology will be pushed forward as scapegoats to take the blame. But short of some genuine soul searching and critical thought, it won't be the proper ones. Just the other day I saw a comment where the writer blamed Trump and conservatism for the trans menace. As if Obama and liberalism had nothing to do with it spreading like wildfire across the globe!
