I think bath salts is pretty plausible. They would have been legalish and available OTC back when Kayla would have been in college. If you didn't hit them like a maniac, they could be used like a moderate amphetamine.

Let's combine these to form a story. Now I don't want to assume Drexel is raping the kids. As we know Nick has lots of pedophile friends. It's possible the Racket's estate is just as degenerate as Little St. James.

Drexel or some other degenerate friend of Nick's got one or more of the kids drunk (because there's booze in every room) and gave them the BBC (or BWC). Nick caught Drexel (or whoever) railing his kids and was so proud that the children weren't incel prudes he bragged to Kayla about it. Even in her pilled-out state, Kayla realized what a failure of a mother and wife she was and tried to commit suicide. Even though Rackets would be happy to be rid of his mess of a wife. Then the kid Drexel raped tried to kill itself next thing you know Nick is running from room-to-room looney tunes style trying to keep all his kids from committing suicide.
