Railfans are mocked regardless. Shaner's thread is a lesson for those types of people.
I remember when KyoAni studio got arsoned, some JP users on Twitter joked that it was a train sperg, and said train sperg was apparently a notorious foamer and Japan's version of Shaner. Who was that guy again?

Train fans often have this gathering where they're taking pictures of a train that passes by. However, they often blocked the road and pathways people are using as well. Worse, sometimes these railfans would attack random people because they thought these rando are interrupting their photo/video shoot
There's this video of an incident that became a meme in Japan

Japanese people take their commutes very seriously. If you delay trains you can potentially face fines as compensation for inconveniencing other passengers.

one of my favorite parts of japan is that they refuse to coddle autists or play along with their entitlement due to mental health hatred
They don't coddle them but they aren't helping them either. Being an autist in japanese society is absolutely fucking awful. There are so many rules and shit. People with autism, adhd, learning disabillities & mental health issues are fucked.

But that has nothing to do with the video or are you referring to something else?
I’m referring to the text in that post, not the video itself.

Unlike anime tourists, railfans do dumb shit that interrupts the lives of MANY people. Trains are so integral to travel, having some autist delay everyone so he can take a picture or ogle at a train isn’t good.

Being at places on-time is so important… it’s pretty selfish when you think about it.

Are you really trying to say that its impossible for people with mental/physical illnesses or disabilities to be productive members of society? Because there's literally millions of people in the world proving that wrong every day. A person with autism, for example, or a speech impediment, is perfectly capable of holding a steady job.

The single time I've had a major train delay was because someone jumped on the tracks and they had to clean it up. Took an hour and a half and was a major pain the ass.

i said tards specifically. tards are not good at doing many things. i know you are personally offended due to being such

First of all, nobody knows what you mean by "tard". We were talking about people suffering from mundane mental illnesses and mental health issues, like autism. If you are talking about people who are so mentally handicapped they need assistance or medical care, that's a different issue altogether.

Second, even those who need that level of assistance and need to be kept in a mental health facility are still human beings who deserve basic human dignity, and in Japan, they often don't even get that.

Idk if they still do it today, but like 10 years ago if you killed yourself on the tracks your family would have to pay the fines/ticket compensation.

Quite fucked up lol. You just lost a family member and you’re sent a several million yen bill on top of that.

Is Japan simply untapped ground for a yet discovered species of lolcow?
In a few ways maybe yeah. Japan has a lot of people that get away with strange or outright outrageous behavior because people in Japan have a very non confrontational attitude towards other Japanese. Many public freakouts by tards in the wild are usually followed by the phrase "Shouganai" meaning "it is what it is" or the rare "Urusai" for "Loud/shut up". This leads to emboldened cows that realize so long as they don't get arrested they can push the envelope and be a public nuisance. Not that it's unlike the west where the same thing happens. People don't confront the cow thus they get bolder but in general people are way more hands off here.

I have seen maybe 1 or 2 physical confrontations in my life between a sperg and a regular person. It really depends on time or place.
