Thank God the tourist-in-chief hasn't featured the thread while I was working. Light still shines upon this earth.
I'm a pretty casual Vtuber watcher and I don't get the idea of being a fan of the corporation on top of being a fan of the tubers.
For me it's less being a diehard fan of the company, and more being relatively pleased with that company as a whole. For example, Hololive. It's had its missteps - Chris, stalking Mel, touching Chinese nonsense at all, but the company it is today seems to be doing good, doing well, and consistently finding talents that I enjoy. I will be there for the debut of any new generation, JP, ID, EN, or Stars, and I'll probably find someone I like. To that extent, I am a fan of the company.
In contrast, Nijisanji (prior to December 2023) would shart out gens left right and center, and I barely care about any of the livers in any branches, so there's no point for me to turn up for debuts, and I'm not alone in this. There was a highly rated post on the subreddit the other day about how they learnt of Victoria's existence through this catastrophe, rather than her being advertised to him via debut or otherwise. Before this all went down, I didn't even know Kunai existed. Before December 2023, I was a fan of Selen, Pomu, Elira, Fulgur, and Doppio, not Nijisanji.
(Now I'm a fan of none of them, they're all either dead or traitors).
