Okay, so it's not the Wendigo thing... But why the fuck is deer imagery an "added problem"?????
If you don't know what you're talking about and say something retarded, don't walk it back just allude to something vague so you won't have to admit you were wrong or explain yourself.
Anyway speaking of wendigos the hazbin video has done better than both her previous videos, riding this trend has done her a favor it seems.

I think the problem a lot of people have is that vodou has a history of being portrayed poorly in the west, you know cooking people in cauldrons and voodoo dolls, stuff like that. So when you have the antagonist in your story practice voodoo people take it as playing into negative stereotypes.I don't keep up with the HH drama, so get me up to speed on how the fuck the appropriation is a problem here? Like, the drama is about a character that actually practices voodoo, right? It's not just throwing random references around, it's one specific character with a backstory directly connected to voodoo. He grew up in New Orleans, practiced the religion while alive, and now that he's in hell he uses those rituals he learned to control the spirits under his control. It's not "appropriation" to write a character that is connected to a different religion than one you practice, unless you're someone like Lily Orchard who has no idea how cultures work.
Honestly the thing that annoys me is that people got mad at them for using actual vodou symbols, when, to me that implies they actually did a little bit of research and didn't just go with surface level stuff. Like where's the line? When is it being accurate and when is it appropriation? Especially in this fantastical hell setting where a vodou practitioner would absolutely go to hell?
