Alternatively her class could have sat in on a forensic dissection at the local pathologist's office.

That said, I strongly doubt that such a thing happened. She started with occupational therapy apparently— so, physical, sensory, and cognitive problems. OT assists with daily life, and helps the patient overcome specific obstacles (injury, illness, etc). Lifestyle adaptations. Rehab. OT plays hand-in-hand with physical therapy sometimes. It all comes down to making that individual/patient as independent as possible.

It doesn’t, in any way, involve knowing the intricate and very tiny details of anatomy. They don’t need to. They need to know the basics and how things work, etc. They need to be knowledgeable, yes, but that knowledge can be obtained through books and low-cost dissection things like minks or cats. I could also see the class sitting in on a dissection with the singular role of observation, at the very most.

This is the first time we’re hearing about it, as far as I know. I don’t believe it anyway.

I can’t pinpoint anything, because Staph is (for once) not giving us an entire play-by-play on her cat… but! We know:
