Nigger, we didn't win shit. You didn't win shit. I didn't win shit. The MIC were the only ones who won shit which makes it all trivial.
I won liberal tears and pictures of them going insane over the blandest wet blanket to ever hold office.
I'm zoomier than you, you inbred mongoloid cocksucker.
The Iraq war was a mistake and you have made not a single fucking cogent argument in favor of it. You are praising the worst mistake the uniparty elements of the GOPe ever committed, and would cement the American right's cultural failure for over a decade afterwards, until Trump.
My point is it cannot be changed. I am accepting what good that happened. Technically it was America's last war win. It's worth remembering for that for what we paid. It is in our control. We have bases there still.

I do agree culturally it was unpopular. It cost arguably more than the war itself. But Trump probably wouldn't have happened without it

should? again the fall of the USSR is what made us the global hegemon. Bill got to exploit the peace divided as mush as any other nato member.

Again it was bush who wanted to shape the post cold war world clinton was more a domestic president.

what happened in the 1990s was this

ussr falls the existenal threat is over

the materials of the former soviet block go up for sale

the billion low skilled hands in china will make shit for CHEAP

this was a very deflationary environment

The military gets reorganized and strategic assets get sold.

after 9/11 we go fuck around in the middle east

magic black man wins gop seethes

meme magic trump man wins everyone seethes

Eh, it's a little more complicated than that. (Sperging mode ENGAGED!)

The Soviet Union collapsed in December 1991, fairly quickly and to the surprise of a lot of people. The fall of the Berlin Wall '89, the Solidarity Party in Poland, etc. make the collapse seem more obvious in retrospect, but that's all just Monday morning quarterbacking. The thing is, Bush Sr. speeches about a "New World Order" aside, no one had any idea exactly what the fall of the Soviet Union meant.

One theory that quickly came to prominence was Fukuyama's "End of History" theory. The basic idea was that socialism and communism were now Officially Discredited in the eyes of the whole world, and that American or Western European style representative democracy + welfare-state capitalism were THE final political and economic models for the world, and all that was left to do was wait for the more backwards nations of the earth to commit to the plan, under the technocratic governance of experts from the UN and other globalized organizations, all backed up by NATO as the UN's strong right arm, with America being the big meaty bicep of that arm. This was the Dream that Was Rome The Pax Americana, and it shaped a lot of the thinking of Americans (and Westerners more generally) in the 1990s. Bush Sr. was the initiator of this geostrategic orientation, but remember, lost in 1992 - but Bill Clinton was happy to dance to the tune that Bush had started playing. It sounded good, and ol' Billy boy was not one to think harder than he needed to about such things. He'd inherited the strongest position the US had ever been in; it would have been pretty hard to fuck up!

Of course, Russia and the other former Soviet nations were still around. What, then, should America's policy be towards it's now ruined enemy? Enter Shock Doctrine! The basic idea, cooked up by the Best & Brightest from Harvard and Wall Street was... take the entire Soviet industrial & infrastructural base, built through decades of backbreaking labor by Soviet citizens, and sell it all off to private interests for pennies on the dollar (or kopecks on the ruble?) This was absolutely ruinous to the Russian people, to the extent that life expectancy noticeably fell during the 1990s. Widespread poverty, crime, deaths due to drug and alcohol abuse, preventable diseases, etc. and a political system ruled by gangsters and oligarchs. One school of thought is that the Shock Doctrine was simply orthodox American economic thinking that didn't work well in the environment of post-Soviet Russia - America's intentions were good but the application was flawed. A darker theory is that all the suffering was the actual intended effect: America wanted to make sure it's downed rival stayed down, aided by our propping-up of the incompetent drunk Yeltsin as Russian head of state.

Meanwhile, China was on the rise, and things were certainly looking up for the Chinese since Deng's reforms of the late 1970s, but the West wasn't too worried: the Chinese would arrive as a major player someday, but, the thinking went, the taste for American goods and services helped collapse the Soviet Union, so surely it'll do the same in China, that little fracas in Tianamen Square notwithstanding. Japan was considered the big rival to watch in the East, which again seems strange in retrospect, but Japan's meteoric rise in the 1970s and 1980s in particular scared the shit out of a lot of Americans - which is also why you see such a hard-on for everything Japanese in cyberpunk literature, since it simply reflected the anxieties of the time.

All this is really a long way around to give context to my point: the US didn't have to end up in the role of global hegemon and/or world police; this was a (more or less) conscious decision on our part. We could have done much, much more to try to bring Russia into the fold - while Moscow would never have tolerated being our local lackey (the way that, say, the Germans have been) they might have been willing to accept the role of junior partner, a la the Brits. What's interesting is that there was a second chance for this to have happened: in the early 2000s Russia, too, was having a problem with Islamic terrorism (primarily the Chechens) and there was considerable interest in working together to combat Islamic extremism, as well as talk of inviting the Russians into NATO! I suspect that old Cold Warriors in both DC and Moscow would have done their best to prevent any such thing, but it was at least soberly considered at the time, and it's fascinating to think about what the world of today might be like had it happened.

It's also interesting to consider what might of happened if the West had taken the CCP more seriously and not been nearly so quick to allow vital industries to be moved to China, secure in the (incorrect, as it turned out!) knowledge that of course once Chinese people get a taste of blue jeans & rock'n'roll they'd toss Communism aside, just as the Soviets had done.

The US would certainly be in a stronger position today if we hadn't been quite so arrogant in our own inevitable superiority in the early 1990s. But we made conscious choices regarding our approach to both Russia and China, as well as the broader world, and the consequences of those choices are very much still playing out. None of it was simply inevitable.

No we didn't, you fucking retard.

The goal was to push Iraq out of Kuwait and destroy Iraq's ability to wage war.

We did that shit.

We weren't going to occupy Iraq and have a repeat of Vietnam because EVERYONE fucking knew what would happen.

Once it was done, we fucking left.

It's just people are fucking retards and were all "OH, WE NEED TO OCCUPY IT!"

We didn't because we knew what would happen.

Oh, look, that thing that Powell, Shwartzkoph, and others said would happen happened.
Dumb take. The goal was to destroy Iraq to pave the way for Greater Israel. That is why they are harping on Iran so hard now, the last non-Zionist controlled state in the region.

My point is it cannot be changed. I am accepting what good that happened.
Cocksucking-mongerel-friend, are you playing Motte and Bailey now?
Yes, the armed forces and government of Saddam Hussein were successfully crushed during the Shock-and-Awe campaign. That much is an absolutely certain victory.
But that was in 2003. The Iraq war continued officially until 2011, then heated right back up again in 2014 after ISIS took over after the destabilized regions of Iraq. Calling the Iraq war a victory just because we killed Hussein completely misses the bigger picture. Why did we actually kill Hussein? What did a decade's long toil in Iraq get us? Did we make the world "Safe for democracy"? Lol. Did we get real, material, loot to take home? Are we wealthier because of the Iraq war? And no "but muh bases"--those go on the expense side of the accounting checkbook, not the revenue side! Accounting fraud is a felony.
The goal was to destroy Iraq to pave the way for Greater Israel
I can't really argue with this, desu.

This is to be expected.
Mazi was a fucking democrat.
The neocons thought they could "safe district" in another uniparty shitbag who literally parroted Mitt Romney and legitimized the persecution of Trump by saying she'd refuse to seat him if he were "convicted"... and their base said fuck off.

This is the MAGA party now, either run MAGA or fall in humiliating defeat.

There's also the level of "pissed" you get when your own party's apparatus nullifies your vote via an expulsion.
The GOP really want to fall on their swords trying to deny Trump and his base. They gambled on this and lost, again, and the margins will only increase for democrats, even in "safe districts" so long as the GOP defy their base.

It did snow moderately heavy so that might have kept people away. There was only like 23% voter turnout.

This whole election kind of confused me. I'm in District 2 and I thought I had to vote today. But apparently it was only District 3. I voted for Santos originally so I'm not sure why I wasn't allowed to vote for his replacement.

Anyway, these results seem weird to me in general. I mean, so much of Long Island is pretty right-leaning. Even when I went into the school to vote today, the guy who told me that I was in the wrong district and couldn't vote, he was wearing a hat with a silhouette of an AK-47 and it actually said "AK-47" above the silhouette. Yet somehow the election goes left. Maybe it's just because the GOP just excels at taking Ls.

EDIT: Just saw Dustbuster's post, who posted while I was writing my response. Didn't realize that about Mazi. Guess it wouldn't have mattered then who won.

You joke about him being an MMA fighter but cryptic went ahead and made him the emperor of the terran empire:
In fairness storywise there wasn't anybody who could opposed him after mirror Wesley had killed the Traveler after learning everything from him. And later gaining control of Mirror V'Ger.
Even with Cryptic being leftists, it still couldn't resist showing Mirror Wesley having massive almost crippling mommy issues even OG Wesley didn't quite had as bad. FFS how he was technically defeated was by using Mirror Beverly Crusher against him exploiting his mommy issues.

Did you vote for Santos in 2020? He was also the nominee back in 2020, didn't manage to beat Suozzi that year but then he ran in 2022 under the new district lines and beat someone named Robert Zimmerman (lol, same name as Bob Dylan) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2022_...resentatives_elections_in_New_York#District_3

as I posted on my twitter account, a major takeaway is this: Siena College had Trump *OUTPERFORMING* Pilip by 9 points in this same exact district (they had Pilip losing by 4, Trump winning by 5).

Right now, Pilip is behind by 8, implying that Trump (if he would've outperformed Pilip by 9) would've actually won by 1 the electorate in NY-03 that turned out for this special election. And the electorate that will turn out in November will be even more Trump friendly, because special elections are more D friendly this era because the turnout dynamics favor higher propensity college ed voters. Could definitely see Trump winning NY-03 by 5 in November

What would it mean for Trump to win NY-03 by 5?

Well, given that Chomo Joe won NY-03 by 8 in 2020, it would be a swing by 13 points towards Trump. He only needs to swing all of Nevada/Arizona/Georgia/Pennsylvania/Michigan/Wisconsin by 3 to win all of those battleground states. He only needs to swing AZ/GA/WI by 1 to get >270 EV. He only needs to swing PA by 1.2 to get to >290EV.

The special election to replace faggot spic George Santos is today. Republicans are running a nigger Jew named Mazi Pilip. She was a member of the IDF.

https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politi...ork-special-election-to-replace-george-santos

I am going to put some things in perspective.

After October 7th, a bunch of Arabian paragliders decided to larp as members of the SS in the asshole of the world.

And we had a lot of leftoids express solidarity with these Hummus folks or Palestine in general in the West and in America, basically denouncing Israel.

Fox News was running an article that more leftist secular Jews tuned into Fox News than ever before, despite MSNBC getting rid of Mehdi Hasan for questioning an IDF spokesman a bit too hard.

Democrats and Republicans both voted to support Israel but the Democrats also continue to pander to mud people that hate Israel and keep on wanting to import more.

While Republicans talk about wanting to support Israel and Jews more as well as enforcing border laws and planning to make the FBI go more after those that question Israel and passing laws in states like Florida that make it a crime to boycott Israel.

And New York is home to a large number of Jews.

And the GOP ran a black and former IDF vet in that state.

And take a lucky guess which candidate won, it wasn't the individual who fought for Israel's survival at some point in the past.

I think its time for the GOP to realize that even in a year where the media jews are losing their shiet over their own pets supporting Palestine. That American Jews hate them more and wish them to die before any member of Hummus. And that their Israeli cocksucking has probably reached its watershed moment, that it didn't work lol.

Also all of this could have been avoided if they never even entertained getting rid of based faggot George Santos. The Democrats still keep Omar and Talib around, despite being even more hardcore zionists than the GOP.

I mean Fetterman waving an Israeli flag right in the faces of Pro Palestinian niggers. No Republican would have the balls for that.

Reading the past few pages about the views of a war from a bunch of kids, makes me feel really fucking old that I was one of the dumbfucks who went to Afghanistan.

Whatever you are told, whatever you have read, whatever you saw about that war, it's all fucking lies. Afghan was a massive MIC glow-op.

Are... are all of you millennials so mad because you voted for Obama and are trying to justify your vote by making Bush Hitler because the way you guys describe Iraq, it's worse than WW2, the Civil War, 1812, and the revolution COMBINED
*Puts on his childin glasses and doing his best Null impersonating Pat and Ralph voice*

Some of us.... well, some of us were just history majors, my dear boy. And we grind our teeth when you dumb youngsters a-start flappin' your gums like actin' all like some smug authority, especially on shit you have demonstrated almost partial to nearly-complete ignorance of. There's a whole fucking forest out there, sonny. But you gosh durned kids can only see the pretty, pretty trees that are right in your face. Sad. Many such cases.

Enjoy prison, stalker

And your various history teachers should face the lash.

I was talking Iraq. Afghanistan is a completely different story.

Unlike Afghanistan we still have holdings in the region. Clearly we did something right

I already said i was 2 in 03. We left a job unfinished in 1991. You want a reason, that's the real reason. I feel nothing for a sand nigger tyrant with a rapist son that got hung by his own people. Should have gone further. Should have taken the entire middle east at that point. Infinite oil, no Iran, no problems.

You really should join the US military unironically to prove a boomer like @Jet Fuel Johnny wrong like in that one thread in mass debates.

Be the zoomer that you were meant to be.

I'm routinely impressed by how the fucking worst portion of the site is dragged down by a genre of retard I had previously only imagined in maddening nightmares.

Back on-topic, before I leave this thread to rot again: It's my understanding that we've greenlit more funding to both Israel and Ukraine. I can't think of anyone in my life who is for both. It's either all for one or none (even my more leans-blue friends have gathered that Ukraine is a useless endeavor that will never end, and nobody besides the worst people I know want our involvement in either case to escalate to direct, boots-on the-ground aide.)
Biden is a vegetable, so what do his handlers think this will do for them in this election year? "He's" (his handlers are) funneling resources towards nations that are despised/supported by starkly different idealogies. This threatens to make way for spoiler candidates in November, which is a far more pressing issue for Democrats than Republicans (Nikki Haley lost to Trump's shadow).
They can't ditch him, since even Californians hate Harris (a lot of black people too, since she managed to falsify evidence against people and accelerated a lot of bunk marijuana charges, while more-recently talking about smoking while doing her manic grin+witch's cackle routine). A lot of people who voted for him (and aren't poisoned by watching cable), are unhappy, and in some cases see Trump as preferable because, A: He's mentally there, even if he's still old, and an odd duck. And B: They survived 4 years of him (some better than others), and enjoyed a decent economy up 'til the funny flu.
His most recent gaffes somehow look like an October surprise situation in February. What (likely useless) stunt do they pull?

The worst part is the simple fact that we could have been out of there by mid-2003.

THREE FUCKING TIMES normal fucking grunts found bin Laden.

THREE FUCKING TIMES!

One of them, he had like 4 guys with him with a broken down vehicle after the other vehicle left to get help.

Every time, when they radioed back, Delta, the SEALs, and the Green Weenies threw a bitch fit and demanded they be the ones to do it.

Three times regular Army guys had to watch bin Liden drive off while the snake eaters all screeched and had themselves a faggoty little slap fight over who was supposed to take him down.

Which is why, in Iraq, when they found Saddam and radioed back, they were then told to wait for the snake eaters, the SSG said "FUCK THIS!" and they dragged him out of the hole.

Reading those fucking reports was goddamn embarrassing.

Fucking Afghanistan was so the CIA and the snake eaters could all stroke each others dicks.

You should really watch this video.

Where we have a top class operator rifle that is commissioned for use by Snake Eaters.

Against a fucking MID LENGTH dissipater from PSA with the old school drop in handguard.

Top class rifle is over $2000 and the PSA is about $400ish.

The PSA manages a 2 inch grouping compared to roughly a 1.5 inch grouping from the Snake Eater rifle.

$1600 extra for a 0.5 inch grouping upgrade.

I think this review should have been between that Daniel Defense rifle and the PSA M16A2 or M16A4 sold with the Chrome lined barrel to really show how much the MIC has been profiting off rifles being sold.

I believe an M16A4 can probably match that inch grouping round for round and show that American taxpayers got cucked by tacticool operator fags.

Drop in handguard with heatshield > free floating handguard which requires me to buy a rag or extra panels to protect my gloved hands from the heat when I decide to dump like a fool.

>How would that be economically stable for small businesses?
<Let me tell you my life story...
i fucking HAAAAAAAATE when politicians do this shit. Just answer the fucking question!!!
They do it because the media are unironic ball washers. Any half decent interviewer/moderator would have interrupted the turd in yellow's rambling bullshit with "that's not what I asked, my question was". The media give more shits about being invited to parties and getting fat paychecks than they do about informing the public. Its all theater for them.

Is that a real hack of MvC2, or some version of Mugen?

Remember that this is supposedly Trump's typical meal at McDonalds. Can you imagine Biden trying to eat this whole thing even once?

People like Omar and Talib are useful for keeping the progressive crowd in line. Same goes for Elizabeth Warren even though she lied about being a fucking Indian so she could get ahead at Harvard. Progressives don't care that she's worth over sixty million dollars on a congressional salary as long as she promises them she'll stick it to the corporations.

The GOP got rid of Santos because they were told to. He had absolutely no value to anyone and he risked alienating the only Jews willing to give the GOP money. That's all that matters to these "people" at the end of the day. If any donor told them to duct tape their dicks between their legs and told them to run around the White House lawn while covering themselves in peanut butter, they'd ask "Chunky or extra creamy?"

I really don't see the GOP making it to 2030. Trump may very well win '24 but he's not taking the party with him across the finish line.
