Rimworld is unironically super based when it comes to diversity, both racial and ideological.

Having an ideologically homogenous community gives ton of mood bonuses due to everyone sharing the same building style preferences and satisfies everyone with a single temple instead of needing multiple for reach religion. People also resent conversion attempts and they get an extra bonus from everyone sharing the same religion, it also makes planning and organizing easier as everyone's clothing and religious needs are more easily met as they are the same.

Sure, you can also get big bonuses with diversity, but it requires all the different ideologions to share the exact same precepts to do so, negating the whole point of diversity to begin with.

If you also choose to be racist, all your colonists get a huge mood bonus from homogeity AND they get an even bigger mood bonus everytime they repel a raid from another race.

Only issue is that being racist prohibits you from practicing eugenics because it would make your race impure, which is whatever.

I'm playing Songs of Syx atm and loving it. I purchased rimworld years ago but it never clicked, but I want to play it now because of how much I'm enjoying Syx. Is there a guide that just tells me how to start, important hot keys and a general idea of how to progress?

This is definitely a troll. But I do like the quote of "community building" because it made me make the comparison of the two companies in my head.

The Palworld devs actually engage with their community directly by sharing their content and responding to comments while claiming they're focusing efforts based on player feedback. I think the last time Gamefreak responded to any feedback was when people asked if they were going to fix the buggy mess that was their last major release and they just said "no" and put up some paid DLC.
