It took Mojang/Microsoft a full month to send me a "you're fucked" form letter when I found out my old Minecraft account had been hacked and stolen.
Exactly. It wasn’t so much I wanted stuff back as it was I was trying to find out if I could even get it back.

All I ended up learning was customer service was staffed by people that did not know what they were talking about and likely did not even speak the language.

If you thought that was bad, then you should see the horror stories about Nexon's customer support with their games, namely MapleStory. One person had to wait 2 years, to get a response to a support ticket he submitted.

This reminds me of that time when I called support because I changed my 3DS's clock and my Pokemon games locked me out of daily events for two weeks. Nintendo's customer support in my region also includes a much larger country that speaks a different language, so not only did I have to explain a very rare issue but I had to deal with a language barrier as well.
We were struggling to understand each other, it was pretty clear the staff member was giving me basic electronics 101 advice like "have you tried turning it off and on again" because she couldn't understand what I was saying, and when I finally managed to get her to understand she told me it's not a bug it's a feature and to just wait lol.

Honestly, they should just ask the customer what lanuague they want when brining up the issue so it goes to the right person

I lost an old account of mine that way. It simply wouldn't let me log in.

Blood moon Lunala is awesome, it's Solgaleo that looks silly, the bright red doesn't suit it at all.

And to be fair, the sun isn't on fire. For fire you need a combustion reaction and what the sun is undergoing is nuclear fission, and steel isn't weak to electric. Of course, to be scientifically correct they'd also have to stop making mushroom Pokemon grass type, so who knows?
Sorry, autism kicking in. I think you meant nuclear fusion. Nuclear fission is the opposite. We have nuclear fission reactors that split the nucleus of an atom into smaller parts. The sun smashes them together until it can't anymore. We don't have functional fusion reactors that reached net power yet unfortunately, but they have made net positive reactions. Go ahead and autism rate me now.

Yea i made a new one, still got the "failed to authenticate" message. At this point I'm convinced my device is probably shadow-banned or something. Didn't do anything different to my phone before or after that error popped up

Pokemon/Nintendo customer support is literally the worst thing I’ve ever had to deal with.
Just on the off chance I could get some ACTUAL help, I replied back saying it was still having this issue and the same person replied back telling me to check my google account... even though in my initial email, the first reply, and the ticket itself it says "Pokemon Trainer Account". I have no fucking clue where they got Google from, but apparently they also wanted me to take a screen recording of my phone while i do the login process.

Fuck that shit.

Yeah, you're right, I misremembered, It's been a while since I've read up on stars.

That's odd. Can you log in to your old account using another device? To clear up if it's a phone thing or an account thing. I haven't played the game in years so I'm just brainstorming.

I got to ask; are any of the more recent Pokémon games really worth playing? I mean, I had fun with Pokken Tournament, but what about Scarlet & Violent, or the DP Remakes, or Mystery Dungeon DX, or... well, any of them?

Legends Arceus might be fun if you can find it for <40 bucks. New Snap or PMD DX are alright spin-offs. Avoid everything else.

Don't listen to the prudes above me, Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl are TRUE & HONEST remakes that every Pokemon fan should buy in bulk.
They're super cheap if you get them second-hand anyways

TBH, I was interested in potentially getting MDDX; I was a big fan of the Mystery Dungeon games back in the day, and I even still have my old copy of Red Rescue Team. That said, I am wondering if DX is good or not; I've heard that it does change a few things compared to the original game, though I'm not entirely sure what, exactly; can anyone confirm? Does anyone have any thoughts on the game itself?

DX is fine, though I frankly don't think it's worth $60 as it did on release, I'd say it's more of a $45 game. It's got a lot of changes from the originals, most of them are minor improvements from the 3DS games and QoL changes, but some are pretty major.
  • It looks gorgeous, it's got a good art style and they even added story cutscenes which I hope they keep going forward. If they ever make another PMD game, that is.
  • However, it has a forced autosave and it's quite annoying. The originals had an autosave on some of the later dungeons but DX's is constant, and you cannot turn it off. Be very careful about bringing rare items like the Friend Bow if you don't know you can handle the dungeon because if you lose, there's no resetting, you'll have to find another one.
  • All main story dungeons have a permanent x-ray effect, not a fan of this change either.
  • You can only bring 3 teammates but you can recruit Pokemon in dungeons until you have a total of 8 following you around. At the end of the dungeon you can decide which survivors you want to keep and those you don't keep give you money.
  • The new IQ-replacing gimmick is rare qualities, a Pokemon can only get one rare quality by eating a gummi but its teammates will also benefit from the effect. You can replace a rare quality with another by feeding more gummies.
  • You will come across fainted Pokemon very often, you will automatically recruit them if you feed them an apple. They are extremely common and make me feel like an asshole whenever I don't have apples for them.
  • You and your teammates will randomly use moves twice in a row, even if the first hit would've defeated the enemy, it's frankly a bit annoying and makes combat very slow.
  • There are strong foes that rarely appear on some dungeons and give a lot of exp when defeated, these can be shiny and are extremely hard to recruit, you need to have every recruitment-boosting effect to get a good chance and even then expect to fail.
  • The Pokemon you can recruit are still gens 1 to 3, but they've added Mega Evolutions, future evolutions (you can evolve Eevee to Sylveon, for example) and Lucario.
  • There's now no size limit for the team and Groudon and Kyogre can use their primal forms. You can have a team of Mega Rayquaza, Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre if you want.
  • There's an auto-battle feature, it's mostly just used for grinding in the Makuhita dojo, which has been reworked to beating as many enemies as possible before time runs out, otherwise it's not very useful.
  • Like in the 3DS games, Pokemon you don't use also get experience.
  • Friend areas are now glorified pngs.
Overall it's not terrible, but I prefer the originals even if they are clunky by comparison. Also, be careful if your joycons drift, you can't open the menu while your Pokemon is moving and it's made the game practically unplayable for me.

PMDXD does not have the generic tackle attack, either.
I remember typing that, must've deleted it during proofreading. But yeah, there is no basic attack. Period. There isn't even the 5 damage attack from the 3DS games. I don't know why Spike Chunsoft are against it but it was handy and should return.
