Sony hate thread

LOL, the only way Soyn can get games is if they leech off of Micro-dick.

They have so many great first party IP's to choose from, too. How about a new middle-tier Ape Escape? Doesn't have to break the bank, just something mechanically satisfying with a pleasing art style would be enough to sell copies.
I still can't believe they never tried to reboot Syphon Filter into some cinematic 24 or Jason Bourne knock off.

Not happening. SEGA already admitted they are smooth-brained retards that can't handle the Saturns 400IQ Quads code
It's not a complete impossibility as a third party has already made a Saturn emulator for Switch (City Connection's "Saturn Tribute" series) and Sega has licensed other people's emulators for their consoles before.
A bigger problem is the NSO format of shitting out a bunch of games into one app stops being feasible when you go from small cartridge-based games to disc-based ones.

They should totally add Saturn games to the Switch 2's version of NSO. Big Gamecube hitters like Pikmin 2 and TTYD are already on/coming to the Switch, so I'd rather play games I only got glimpses of growing up.
And Dreamcast, especially if they're not gonna remaster/remake any of them.

I can't think of anything good they would bring over. It's gonna be trash like Sea of Thieves, not Lost Odyssey, Rare Replay, or anything that would actually fit Switch well, aside from Hi-Fi Rush I guess.

Wii U's library of exclusives looks better, even after Switch gutted it.
Jeez, that's more than I thought it had. I'll even go as far as to argue that Wii U's Switch ports didn't entirely gut the thing, what with games like Mario Maker and The Wonderful 101 just working better on it due to how they were designed around the gamepad.

I see Rare Replay requested a lot for a Switch port. It makes sense, but it was halfway an emulation tech demo, anyway. It came out right as 360 backwards compatibility was added, so they'd have to either port or emulate a number of Xbox 360 games. Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie, and Perfect Dark also used their (very nice) 360 versions. Then there's Grabbed by the Ghoulies, and I'd really like to know what the deal with that was. Is it emulation? From years before homebrew Xbox emulation was worthwhile? Did they seriously write an Xbox emulator just for Grabbed by the Ghoulies, of all things? Or is it just a port? It's the only original Xbox game on Rare Replay, and it was released a couple of years before any other Xbox games were playable on Xbox One. Of course, with all things Xbox One locked down as tight as a drum, I guess nobody but the developers know.

A bunch of Wii U -> Switch ports are just transparently worse. NSMB U DX fucked up the controls, you can undo it but it's annoying; Mario 3D World's faster run speed breaks the level layouts and makes some jumps really hard to time; Tokyo Mirage Session used the Gamepad as a fake LINE app which is very era appropriate and also it's impossible to un-fuck the gravure nerf; Pikmin 3 plays best with "New Play Controls" with a Wii remote which is completely absent on Switch; Hyrule Warriors the difficulty is nerfed especially with the instant character switch.

Their batting average is better for Wii U -> 3DS ports. People complain about Mario Maker not having level sharing but you get a really great set of built-in levels to play. Captain Toad feels right at home on the platform, the simpler visuals suit the game really well. NES Remix cuts out the fat of the two Wii U games and focuses on the less shit NES games.

What fucking timeline are we living in where the execs of console manufacturers are simultaneously port begging and shipping all of their games on PC.

Are Sony and Microsoft working together to crash the console industry with no survivors? Is this how they remove physical media once and for all; by removing any device that had physical media?

What a time to be alive.

They basically colluded with media companies to stop supporting physical copies of movies and television shows and push everyone to streaming platforms through their consoles as well. They want people on Gamepass where you rent your games and need to sit through advertisements every ten minutes in order to keep gaming. When nothing is available on physical media anymore then ownership becomes much easier to prevent.

If Microsoft could force people to rent their operating systems and internet browsers monthly they would. The all digital future is not just about rent seeking every aspect of your life though. It's also about placing advertisements in every second of your life. On your desktop background, in the start menu, in your browser startup screen. You double click a program to run and a 30 second commercial loads up first before the program launches.

I touched on this very briefly in the Xbox hate thread, but I believe that Microsoft and Sony have cornered themselves into two areas where they are "too big to fail" outside of total AAA death.

To try to keep it as concise as I can; Sony has become a hardware leader but seemingly can't produce games worth a shit and we are now seeing a year where it is forecast they won't have anything major coming out. Xbox, meanwhile, has positioned itself as a development leader, but can't seem to sell it's consoles worth a shit.

We're reaching a point where they may need each other simply to survive.
