The Cyberfrog car probably won't even make it on the track, not that anyone would know if it did judging by the quarter-panel decal afforded his primary sponsor at Daytona.

I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt that he didn't want to crash out during practice so we'll see what happens this afternoon.

EDIT: I just noticed it's supposed to start raining this afternoon in Daytona and last all weekend. Might not be any racing at all. 49% chance this evening, 87% all day tomorrow and 98% Sunday.

I'm gonna make a bet right now: If he doesn't make it out of qualifying (assuming the weather holds up enough for that), but the actual race is delayed or cancelled due to rain, the CG people are gonna claim he didn't race only because it rained, and ignore the fact he wouldn't have been able to race anyway. They tend to be really dishonest like that.

But seriously, this has diaster written all over it. People are paying for a car, and I guess a toy of a car, that might not be in any race. :story:

Is this like Ribbitcoin 2.0 in the making, or is that a bit much?

The ARCA race has been rescheduled to late tonight after the truck race due to the threat of weather tomorrow. No info on qualifying yet but I think it's on cable FS1 or the Fox Sports app.


EDIT: Coomalot is running in the last qualifying group 7. The other Chubb car is also in Group 7

Why is it sad? Somehow he got a bunch of strangers to fund his fantasy weekend at Daytona and now he's free to rub elbows with all his heroes and pretend to be one of them without even having to do any more work!

Just like Comicsgate "artists" when you think about it.

True, but if he doesn't get in a race, FROG's crowdfund campaign is gonna look like just about the most retarded thing ever. He's basically sponsoring a joke of a car, driven by a joke of a driver, judging by these results. Who wants a toy car of a race car that can't qualify for a race?

Hell, I still think whatever thing they were gonna put on it wasn't gonna look anything like Ethan's concept art.

Talladega is a longer and faster track. If he can't qualify at Daytona, there's no fucking way this thing will be in the race in Talladega, and therefore the names of the backers won't be in the race either. FROG should consider changing the wording of this to something less definite.

TBF, he's technically not in trouble unless and until the car doesn't qualify for Talladega in April. If he were smart though, he would modify what's written on the campaign page, because there's a very real possibility it won't.

You guys said the car is spec right? So do spec cars have a range? Would they really have a range that lets drivers be that bad?

I'm only guessing, but it could be a thing of the other drivers have newer nicer things in spec, so would run better. Also, experience probably plays a huge role as well. He is on bigger tracks going faster speeds than he may be used to. Again just guessing.

I suppose the engine could be down on compression, and be putting out less HP than the 700bhp it's supposed to be, but I would have thought his crew would have had the chance to notice it was down on power before they showed up at Daytona.

@Mikoyan would be the better guy to ask.

If it's the engine, as he claims, he was cursed with the shittiest engine on the track. I think he might be coping though.

We'll see how he does at the shorter 1 mile Phoenix track next month, but he's needs to unfuck his shit or this is gonna be an embarrassing season, and FROG will also be embarrassed.

So tonight's qualifying race that he didn't qualify for is for NASCAR daytona, which is a higher grade than the the ARCA talladega that the fundraiser is aiming for, right? Still, things do not look good. He's crashed 2 cars, and this abyssmal showing is a poor record. Iirc everytime he's talked about his racing in other stream (I don't touch his actual channel, don't want to catch aids), he's always talked as if he has no idea what he's doing and so only aims to finish, not aim to win. It was either in flashcast or nick's friday degen streams, I can't remember.
