Call of Duty Thread - Potential return to form? Or nothing but cope on the horizon? You decide!

I was going to say I've found that Blackcell buyers get really pissed off when you laugh at them for spending money on what I kept calling "Piss Zombies" and insinuate they have a piss fetish.

But coming in here to see regular soap is now covered in piss makes it even better

Genuinely WTF was Activision thinking? I get that there's a whole gay gold motif to this blackcell stuff but HOLAY SHIT they're covered in piss!

They got the gold cum drip finish. I like the idea behind the Blackcell skins this time around but the execution was kind of fucky. They're reactive skins that turn into a skeleton the more kills you get, I wish you could just go straight for the skeleton version but whatever, there's the exclusive John Doe operator to fulfill that. Also if they changed it from gold cum piss to blood, it would look a million times better. (Also I'd like to say that I liked the Season 1 Blackcell theme of them having more medieval plate armor pieces, it was much better than any of the other Blackcell themes.)

Also I find it really funny how people shit on CoD and the monetization but the moment a season drops the Blackcell upgrade is always on the top sellers chart.

They should get mocked, just like those who only play ranked to unlock that shitty skin.

Call of Duty is on sale again. I'm tempted to get a couple copies, but I want to wait until they just come to Game Pass. Hopefully.

Edit: bought Black Ops 2 on sale. Last time played: 2700 days ago. Seven and a half years ago, wow.

I really don't want to give actiniggers any money for such a shambolic but for the life of me I can't think of an fps game with a really active population.

define active. that's always the fallacy, unless you want to have instant matches with good ping at 3am, it doesn't really matter that much (unless it gets so low it drops below an acceptable threshold). I've been playing games with like 1000 active players.

All the old CODs are hacked to shit, and were within 2 years of launch. I guess there's supposed to be some app to spoof servers, but I'm too lazy to try.

What multiplayer FPS's do you recommend in the vein of cod?

A new crossover is coming to CoD, but strangely it's a crossover with Games Workshop With Warhammer 40k. Footage taken from the account @TheOfficeCod, the videos show off Space Marine skins and various executions that feature a Chainsword (minus the model) and a Servo-skull. According to some posts from Office and some random users, the Space Marine models have the file name of "Juggernaut" or has something related to it, making people theorize that the upcoming Juggernaut Deathmatch mode is a crossover with Warhammer.

Replaying Black Ops II reminds me of how influential and beloved this title was to the franchise. Weapon variety, map design, customization, monetization, player expression, presentation, progression all hit full cylinders with this entry. It's certainly the most expressive Call of Duty without compromising its core identity.

Want to run a shotgun centric class? Sure. Want to be knife only with a few extra perks? Go for it. Don't want any perks? Go ahead. Want to create an emblem of your favorite anime? If you know how to, go nuts.

I miss when CoD would have theater mode, map voting, proximity chat, natural progression, factions and diversification. I have gripes about Black Ops II, but I see why people love it.

competitive or zombies?
for zombies there are plenty of alternatives, otherwise there's cod with mechs:

number should actually be a bit higher given you could only play it via origin for the most time.

hardly playing anything cod-like anymore, so no idea what alternatives there are these days.

How do these models work in multiplayer? Don't they become easy targets with their hit boxes?

I got Titanfall 2 for xbox, haven't played it for years because a chunk of modes aren't that populated. It's a shame that Titanfall 3 never got made, instead we got that Battle Royale piece of shit.

Enough to make a tangible difference. There was that see-through character in MW2 that made it harder to notice them.

Crossover hasn't happened yet so I have no clue, but I'm assuming that they're gonna be the same size as your average male operator and the hitboxes are gonna be the same. For some reason people think that they're going to make the marines lore accurate and have them be 7 or 8 feet tall or something. The extra shit will 100% get annoying for people, but since it's going to be a crossover skin with Games Workshop who are notoriously stingy with the Warhammer IP, I doubt the skin would change even if there was enough backlash about it.

They should add fort-building to COD next.

It looks so fucking low effort. The fact that the arms and weapons clip from the fucking armor is just mega-retarded, even for crossover standards.

It's mainly because they're using selection animations from other operators since the footage is from a hacked version of the game, you can see that the name of the operator changes every time a new animation starts. At the same time though, the shoulder pauldrons still clip a bit even in the default standing animation with the MCW. Even then I can't really blame the devs for it, I'd assume it's hard as fuck to make it look normal with the retarded proportions that Space Marines have.

I feel glad I'm not the only person having issues with the season 2 Blackcell. Your money, your problem but, f you've dumped $30 into literal piss, and run around with it like it's something worth hypebeasting about, you really need to rethink your life choices.

Honestly, if I had a chance to refund MW23 and just wait for Gulf War, I'd probably consider it. The MP is pretty alright, but I bought it for MWZ, since open-world zombies seemed comfortable, and since surely they wouldn't dump it after one season like DMZ, right...?
