man does anyone else think that pokemon games used to have bigger lifespans then nowadays, like i remember talking about gen 4 for years before gen 5 came out but now gen ix feels like it barely has life already and the dlc just came out last month
I've resorted to artificially prolonging its shelf life by trying to hatch A0 IV shiny Pokemon eggs but I think my sanity is losing.

Is SV relevant anymore? I can't be bothered to care about it anymore, not like Gamefreak did at any point.
On the other hand, I am playing a XD hack called XG(NeXt Gen) and I am having a blast. One of my favorite Pokemon experiences to date. Just reinforces the idea that Mainline games have nothing to offer anymore and I am not missing out on anything by aggressively ignoring them, especially with the likes of Pal World coming out on top of that

There was a longer period between Gen 4 and Gen 5 coming out. However the lifecycle has always been ‘current game gets talked about until new one comes out’ We used to have 3rd games which would take up a spot in a Gen filled by remakes and DLC nowadays. So really the shelf life has a always bern this long. Perhaps the only difference nowadays is everything is discovered and shown off completely if not before the game is out, via leaks and mine, then certainly by a few days after thanks to everyone streaming themselves playing it.

*I put a gun(?) at my own head*
They always have been thi short.

(Seriously, they had 3-year cycles.)

Wikipedia suggests that every 3rd game came out like 2 years after the Gen. So i feel like the 3rd year we would normaly have has been replaced by a remake of an older game.

So the Gens in total last the same lengths, the games in them don’t it looks like.

The obligatory Pokémon Day Pokémon Presents has been announced.

There aren't any details on it yet, I just wanted to share the thumbnail because I think it's cute. One of the best parts of this new generation has been all the marketing focusing on pastel mosaics; I think it's a very pretty new direction to use.

Any speculation, I guess? I'm personally expecting the announcement of BW remakes as the main event (since it's that part of the generational cycle and GF want money), with almost nothing else of substance to the rest of the video. It's probably gonna be those remakes and then like 80% mobile game filler fluff. Maybe some card game stuff or merch updates. The last two Presents have taught me to keep my expectations through the floor.

It's based on the crystallization gimmick, so unfortunately it is gonna be abandoned come the next generation, but it makes for adorable mascot and promotional art. (Helps that they leave the giant Ring Pop hats out of it).

I zoned out in previous Presents when they started talking about the cafe mobile game. I get that Pokémon has been exponentially more successful than say, Disney Star Wars, as establishing itself as a lifestyle brand, but I have no idea how Pokémon for the candy crush demo has been running for so long. The art is admittedly cute, though

BW remake in the vein of BDSP would be my guess. Either that or another Legends.

Magnemite and the evolutions seem to be cyborgs. They clearly have machine bodies, yet they eat berries, could get poisoned in Gen 1, could get poisoned by Twineedle in at least Gen 2, and of course they can hatch from eggs. Not only that, but they act collectively and talk (in the Mystery Dungeon games) in a way that seemingly lacks emotion.

So in other words, Magnemite and the evolutions are like the Borg of of the pocket monsters world, minus that assimilation thing?

Uh-oh.
My hack seems to have had broken saving, disobedience, and Leader messages ince a lot of builds ago. Even my last good source files are broken. I did not ice because having an already properly-made save file does not rigger the rror, but making a new one does.
I decided to do all of that from a fresh source, but wi the latest version of pokegold.
I shall focus on doing the foundation first, not necessarily fixin grievances from the original Pokémon Gold and Silver.
At least I know some of the differences between Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Crystal.
