Banning it might protect children. The question is whether this art is an outlet for pedophiles, or whether it radicalizes pedophiles (for lack of a better word). We don't know which is really the case, and we won't ever find out, because no serious researcher wants to take on this kind of stigma.

Art can exist without people jacking off to it. If loli is being used to jack off, that is a very serious issue. Comparing it like its just something the public can just enjoy like a movie comes off as an lunacy. Regular porn is also very restricted for a reason.
The logic people have about allowing people to watch lolicon/shota to prevent them to do crime is like allowing shoplifters to steal shit so they aren't breaking into homes. Neither is ethical but its retarted to pretend one is because it might be the lesser of two evils.

It is absolutely an outlet for pedophiles, that's the purpose of it. But banning it to get rid of an outlet for pedophiles is not worth the trouble, in my opinion, since it doesn't do anything except spite people who have a mental illness and put people in prison that will never have touched a real child to begin with.
People can google "children swimsuits" and jack off to that, or go on Facebook and start finding boomers who post REAL PICTURES of their grandkids at the beach and do the same thing. But you'd have a hard case to ban either of those, because they are protected under freedom of expression. You cannot stop pedophiles from finding an outlet, you will be making worthless laws and wasting people's time and tax money by banning lolicon and prosecuting consumers of it. You are crossing the line between "protecting children" and "killing freedom of expression" the moment you give fiction the same gravity as reality. The only thing you can argue is intent behind lolicon as being for sexual gratification, but sexually gratifying yourself to fucked up hentai is only harmful to yourself, no one else.
The only restrictions on regular porn I know of are snuff films, actual rape, and actual CP, I don't think those rules make porn "very restricted". That's protecting REAL people from harm.
To my point being, as fucked up as it is, it's not hurting anyone except people who think it's gross and icky. And we don't ban forms of art just because they make us uncomfortable.

Dude spent several pages in the other Lolicon defense thread with Libertarian-esque semantics, along with a bunch of other pedophiles. There’s a couple in particular who were arguing in defense of Lolicon since 2021 in that same thread.
Notably, they ignored all evidence that I, @SSj_Ness, @WelperHelper99 presented throughout the thread. Even clinical evidence that I took the time to translate Japanese to English; a study done in Great Nippon no less. Instead, they continued to argue semantics. They ignored blatant examples of “Lolicons” outright calling for lowering the age of consent to 11, examples of Lolicons also spamming real CP onto 8 & 9Chan. Every time they brought up Dr Pizza as a “gotcha”, they proceeded to ignore three more examples of Lolicons getting caught being nonces to real children.
It’s safe to say that they’re this defensive over drawn child porn not because they’re worried about government overreach, but because they indulge in it themselves.

Porn literally doesnt share the same freedom of expression as most other art and speech does. You can argue that sex is a form of art, that doesn't give it unlimited expression where it isn't an issue as other porn is.
The point you are making is that people who like loli and shota are attracted to real children and shouldn't be allowed near a school zone.

I was never arguing to the morality of jacking it to this or that or whatever loli there is, my point is exclusively "banning loli will not protect children from pedophiles" because there's no proof that it would. There was the one instance where it was proven that the one loli artist was using real CP as reference for his art, that's the only instance I can say the person and consumers of their material should be in jail.
