Is there a list of MATI episodes which need to be centrally archived? I have a small mostly non-organised archive of various different archives, including a deleted channel "Mad at the Internet Repo"

This is neither here nor there, but the wife and I have decided to give up all drinks that aren't water for our church's nod to Lent. Alcohol, tea, and of course coffee. I've been slowly scaling back my coffee intake in preparation (I frequently had 4-5 cups a day if not more). Last week I went to two cups a day, this week I've scaled back to 1 cup a day, and next week I'll do one Tuesday and Thursday before cutting it off March 1st.

Is this a wise way to go about this or am I due for horrible caffeine headaches come March?
Tapering is good, but you're still probably gonna get headaches. For me (dropping soda), they lasted about 2 weeks, getting less and less as time went on. You can do it, but it might be a bit rough. Stick with it if it's important to you!
I used to quit caffeine for the entire winter sports season in high school, and I remember being told cut back 25% your daily intake per week. Going from 4 to 2 cups might have been rough, but it sounds like you're handling it well so I wouldn't worry too much. I found that I legitimately enjoyed the taste of coffee, and 1 (rarely 2) cups of coffee was enough for me. It's a nice way to start the morning too, a warm cup for you and your loved one.

The biggest benefit for me was the reduction in sugar, not necessarily caffeine. If you do get headaches, look into the over the counter pill Excedrin (or its generic). Its aspirin + caffeine, approximately 1 weak cup of coffee worth. The caffeine is there to enhance the pain relieving effects, but it also it can address caffeine withdrawal headaches.

I should note that the YouTube searching feature was essentially useless when trying to find content to archive, I mostly found it through going through one channel and finding related content and repeat. YouTube seems to block any relevant MATI content from search, etc.

Hey so I am still working on stuff, I've had a lot of issues on my end (let's not get into all that) but I'm thinking the best way might be to start a new thread for MATI Archiving so that we're not shitting up the main thread. Either that or a DM thread. Let me know, I'm thinking a new thread in Grift Wars would be best.

EDIT: I just went ahead and made the thread (https://kiwifarms.st/threads/mad-at-the-internet-mati-archive-project.183621/ | https://kiwifarmsaaf4t2h7gc3dfc5ojh...-at-the-internet-mati-archive-project.183621/) feel free to sweep or move

EDIT2: Moved to Multimedia

As soon as this church sponsored "Fast" is over I fully intend to drink a gallon of home brewed coffee to see if my fondness for it was habituated or if coffee actually tastes good. In the process I intend to permanently kick soda out of my diet though. More water, more pipe tobacco will be my motto.
God speed, I need to kick soda as well but it's hard when I get the worst cravings whenever I'm expecting. I'll eat healthy any other time except for then all I crave is goyslop. I'm trying to make sure at least 6 days of the week my meals are from the house and decided to give up pizza for lent this year. Next year I think I may try to do soda, keep us updated on how your fast goes!

My mother told me she used to crave Dr. Pepper when she was pregnant with me, so it isn't much of a shock that I grew up to be a sodaholic. Until August, my blood was probably carbonated from all the soda I would drink. I would sweat Baja Blast. Then I went cold turkey. It has been incredibly difficult but I've been off Satan's bathwater for over 6 months. As for caffeine, I started making iced coffee. At first I was brewing full strength coffee and drinking a shitload of it. But over time I started replacing a scoop at a time of regular coffee with decaf. By the time I got to a 50/50 split my caffeine cravings had already mostly subsided. That's how I still make it, but now I'm only making 2-3 pots a week instead of 1 every day. If I want something more refreshing, a glass of fresh lemonade mixed with cranberry juice is nice. Overall, I feel noticably better and all the effort has been worth it. I originally wanted to give up soda for a year, but honestly by now I could probably go the rest of my life without it.
