In all fairness to your take and to try to break this down with as much civility as possible, because I could see how a 3rd party onlooker might think that...
I do think it's fair to state that it's perhaps an exaggeration and character assassination to focus on the porn folder as the worst thing ever that he deserves to be canceled over. I, cynically, believe that quite a lot of people have
something in their porn folder they could be canceled over, so it's not quite fair to act like this is all just a Vaush problem. "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone," and that effectively means that all of us have to question if we've truly never caught ourselves going "wtf is wrong with me and why did that turn me on" while browsing porn, which hey, be careful if you dare claim it's never happened to you. And fortunately, most of us don't ever act on some of the weirder shit we may have liked.
HOWEVER!
What perhaps isn't being discussed as much as it should be, is that the real controversy is not the porn folder itself, but rather previous (and current) statements made by Vaush that are honestly way worse than the porn folder.
When Vaush comes out claiming "no you don't understand, I want to fuck a woman
as a horse," as if that makes it better or clarifies shit for us, then yes he seems incredibly out of touch with how the rest of us would treat our own weirdest kink. I'd bet money there are people who like the drawings just like Vaush does, but they would still look at his comments about it, his relentless desire to discuss horse cock and how passionate he is about them and still think "vaush wtf is wrong with you?" It is not normal for someone to insert horse cocks into so many discussions out of the blue like vaush has.
And likewise, the entire nation of Japan has a questionable relationship with loli stuff, but I'm unaware of any statistical anomalies suggesting this negatively impacts sexuality within Japan. (though to be fair, Japan itself is a can of worms for statistics, and you often can't rely on their stats because their society of shame will function in such a way that naturally downplays all of their problem stats. Completely understand the side who would insist that we need more investigation into the impact it has on the culture)
But once again, right when you think that might exonerate Vaush, he's out here saying "

is pedophilia, plain and simple. The entire reason we shun it is BECAUSE of how damaging that is to the minor in question, yet Vaush is out here doing his dipshit "well akshually" stance to ACTUALLY TRY AND ARGUE THIS CAN BE GOOD FOR THE CHILD.
Basically, with Vaush, it's less about the porn itself, and more about seeing a guy that made those statements in the past have an entire stash dedicated to those themes is rather alarming, and makes you question if it's safe to leave him alone in a room with either a horse or a child...and god help us if that man is ever alone with a baby foal. We are not seeing exaggerations to purposefully character assassinate Vaush, but rather we are seeing a hyper-fixation on the porn folder that leaves out the
other details that Vaush should be held accountable for, because the moment you include those, there's no excusing them.
Before the porn folder...? People probably told themselves "it's okay, he's just an idiot. He was voicing some dipshit opinion about a topic he has little knowledge or care for and was probably just trying to be a contrarian, so even if it was stupid as hell, let's not waste our breath on him and just move on." But now with the porn folder, people are questioning how much was just "one random dipshit opinion in an attempt to come across as an intellectual contrarian" and instead we're wondering how likely this fucker would be to do something inappropriate to a horse or a child if you gave him the opportunity to.
