Here's the fatal flaw: the FBI, for decades at this point, has willingly turned a blind eye to any extremism from the left. They have a massive amount of intel on the right, but people in power have paid a lot to make sure the left is ignored. They may not want it, but at this point they have to get the infrastructure to protect trump when the agencies are already filled with true believers that want Trump dead.
