There's not a single mention of arguments about US military servers in Germany, and plenty of hand-wringing about how filing suit to challenge an election is an attack on the foundation of Democracy (although it apparently wasn't in 2000). So yes, this is a total bullshit ruling, and SCOTUS punted on it, meaning the next time the Democrats steal an election, we've got a ruling on the book establishing that challenging the steal in the court is itself a punishable offense.
The "roberts court" is maintaining it's utter failure to reign in abuses of judicial process.
I've tracked this back as far as 2012 with the Mann case when they allowed the DC Circuit to flat-out ignore its own anti-slapp law to "get an evil climate-denier"
This led to expansion of abuses of procedure, snowballing to Alex Jones being declared "in default" after being demanded by a court to produce "discovery" that was not legally his to produce.
Roberts punted again.
Then the same gambit was pulled on Giulliani.
I don't know if he's just retarded or if he's guilty of all these abuses and looking to avoid accountability.

This pattern is frankly unsettling and doesn't bode well for the Trump DC Cases.
I give it 3 months before the soft coup by the administrative state against the elected office of the president is sealed with a kiss by Roberts, after which career bureaucrats in the DOJ and CIA will be the ones running the white house, under threat of post-term prosecution for any POTUS that refuses them.

it's all Russian misinformation
:story:
we are on don't believe your lying eyes & ears.

According to a grand jury indictment unsealed in the Central District of California, Smirnov allegedly began speaking with his FBI handler in 2017 to discuss Burisma Holdings, Limited, a Ukrainian holding company that hired Hunter Biden to sit on its board.

How remarkably convenient!
*cough*bullshit*cough*

Allow me to unpack this for those who weren't following this:

This is the FBI engaging in witness intimidation and obstruction of justice.

The guy came forward to blow the whistle on the Bidens, the FBI then arrested him, and then after a while in their custody he comes out spouting their propaganda.

Do you not understand why this is a complete and total abuse of the judicial system? Can you actually comprehend why we shouldn't be fining and persecuting somebody for calling into question a democratic process?

Let me explain it for you: Because then we cannot ever question the validity of a democratic process and it will inevitably become corrupted.

You are either willingly ignorant of that or just don't care.

I'll put this argument less emotionally:
If filing suit under election laws on the books is not permitted, with a punishment of financial ruination and/or disbarment, then we do not have election laws.
The people filing these suits already incur their own substantial expenses when filing them. They are already fighting government entities with nigh infinite funding collected at gunpoint.
Such a thing is never a "frivolous endeavor".
They should be allowed to win or lose on the merits of their case.

You don't understand, if somebody makes a bad argument, that is a danger to democracy. We have to stop something like Jan 6 from happening again!

I hate headlines. Declined to take the case and upholding a case are very different things.

Declining to hear cases is the Roberts Court's clever-silly way of avoiding issues where the libs are clearly acting lawlessly, but ruling against them will trigger a country-wide temper tantrum. He believes that by not ruling at all on such cases, he preserves the Court's legitimacy.

I'm aware of how they function. The headline is still a lie.
