Why do leftists support Palestine?

I think there is something that is so safe about living in most western countries that lefties forget that barbarism is alive and well in many parts of the world. They face no regular threat from people who literally want to kill them for little to no reason and can’t imagine that real-life humans would could so without provocation. The argument I’ve seen lately in addition to the others mentioned is “well if criminals use hostages as human shields the police aren’t supposed to shoot the hostages too!” This is of course entirely disingenuous as they are intentionally leaving out the fact that the criminals are shooting at you, getting closer to you, and you have no avenue of retreat.

It’s amazing to me that colleges were a place once where your opinions were tested and history was studied thoroughly to back up or refute assumptions. Being challenged is uncomfortable and triggering though. Much easier to simplify the world as “white man bad.”

Everywhere I go I see leftists supporting Ukraine. Why is this? In Ukraine troons and gays are thrown off buildings and there are literal statues of SS officers. Meanwhile Russia is recruiting muzzies and mongolians to drive tanks. Why do they guard Ukraine even though they do everything they accuse the right of doing in the west?

I empathize with them because TPTB are recreating the identical environment in our own countries, for some reason...

Step 1. Gain control of assets in national & international establishment institutions.
Step 2. Flood some country with foreign invaders
Step 3. Setup various "us vs them" dichotomies.
Step 4. Create artificial scarcity by taking control of industry, water, farmland/food, energy production.
Step 5. Wait for civil unrest.
Step 6. Disarm local population, imprison political opponents.
Step 7. Cast rebels as terrorists (criminals) rather than a valid resistance, covered by international law.
Step 9. Reduce old stock inhabitants through campaigns of violence, ie; "mowing the lawn".
Step 8. Control remaining population via oppression, surveillance, and force, with international support.
Step 10. If unsuccessful, go back to step 5 and repeat, until population is cowed enough to control, or otherwise eliminated.

Coming soon, to a country near you. Hopefully, Iran or Russia will be kind enough to send you arms once TPTB decided they have enacted sufficient gun control and imprisoned enough political dissidents to move on to the next step of the plan.

It's a combination of the modern leftist obsession with "oppressed" groups, mixed with a longstanding ultra-leftist tradition of supporting Palestine. Said tradition originated in the eastern bloc during the cold war as a response to Israel being supported by the US.

In Europe part of the reason is Socialist/Communist solidarity and tradition. It goes back to the 60s and it was strange then and strange now but for some reason Eurocommies made friends with Sand Land nationalists. The RAF (the germ commie terrorists) were buddy buddy with the PLO. The IRA got help from both Lebanese and Libyan Arab nationalists and if you dig deep enough you will find some link between some Arabs and some crazy Cold War era commies.
In the broader Gommie-NATO world conflict Israel had supported things like South Africa and Rhodesia as well as the Christian side of the Lebanese civil war, so in turn gommies went against Israel as a reaction.

Because 'leftists' especially of the Anglo-sphere, worship the lumpenproletariat of any region, regardless of ethnicity. The pallys are demonstrably incapable of even mimicking functioning civilization which is fine because if the leftist project of the past 60 years has been to 'reimagine' (read: destroy) Western civilization and culture and the lumpenproletariat (ferally anti-social elements in any given society) are their speartip. Israel, to their minds, is merely an outpost of said civilization in the desert and also worthy of destruction. Also, the fixation on identity as a marker of moral standing (the Progressive Stack) is why they can boo-hoo on cue for the 'genocide' of Palestinians (despite their being more of them now than ever in recorded history) but go radio silent on the ethnic cleansing of the Armenians and Assyrians (predominantly Christian populations, unworthy of concern).

Lefties and Arabs don't understand the realpolitik in the middle East.

Arab leaders REALLLY don't give a fuck about Arabs in Gaza and West Bank. For them, they are the vestige of the past that's stopping them from getting rid of islamists and extremists in the region.

They REALLY love Israel for becoming the focal point of hate in the Arab world or otherwise they would be gunning after them (sheiks, princes, clerics, kings, and you know....).

It's pretty obvious that Israel is cleaning out Palestine's clock. Disagree with me but I don't believe in this Hamas crap, I think they're a small organization. It's just an excuse to bomb out Palestinians lol. The "Hamas is bunkering under hospitals" stuff is ridiculous. Israel just wants to bomb those hospitals.

It is a genocide, let's be honest with ourselves here. But I don't want to see a sea of Palestinian refugees coming to the west either to be honest. This is probably what this shit is going to eventually result in. Other Muslim countries need to step up and take these people in.

I will say this, being anti Israel is probably the one thing progressives have gotten right, though I do have to wonder how long will it take for the establishment to reform their message into more direct imperial liberalism and remake muslims as the enemy.

Can I just say that I don't give a shit about either Israel or Palestine at this point? Supporting one side or the other just plants a target on your back, and I've reached the "fuck 'em both" point in my dealings with these morons. I'm legitimately fucking DONE. At first I was kind of on Israel's side in this, given the nature of the thing, but no. They're just as fucking retarded as the Palestinians are. It's all I can do to keep my own ass afloat and above water, and you want me to support a side in a conflict that dates back to the Bible? Nah. Fuck this shit, I'm out.
