the story has been pretty well told at AMB and on facebook. it's a busker territorial dispute that's been going on for a couple of years and i had a tom moment, elbow whapping a wigger wannabe wanker of a rock star who had been thugging me off my prime spot regularly for the past couple of years. two weeks straight he set up less than twenty feet away and started playing . the police ordered everybody out of the tunnel and when i came out to work on the ninth he was setting up on my first alternate spot. as i went buy, i elbow whapped upside the back of his head and kept walking. he chased me down butted me in the head with a solid body guitar and then slammed it across the back of my legs.
i kept walking to my third alternate, two blocks down and a cop rolled up telling me that the kid claimed i stole about 20 dollars from him which didn't wash well because i had only made about six bucks in the interim. he also neglected to tell the cop about the retaliatory attack. i expect the prosecutor to offer me 30 hours of community service and a year or two of deferred adjudication which i will decline and counter with a motion for dismissal based on the false report and in ultra vires retaliatory attack as noted in the amendment to #1609090654 by dragon, amended by hould.
if that flies, i expect the kid to get no less than six months pleading to two felony cops. the kid has priors and the beat cops don't like him. they like me and chat me up a lot. some of them have bought jewelry. i also call in a fair number of medical emergencies, auto accidents and domestic disputes because i live near a busy intersection. they like those kinds of calls from the citizens.

what a fool you are. i don't claim that what i did was totally right. i claim that i did something inappropriate due to this person's shit costing me money three weeks in a row. so far, i have no complaints about the police or the court's role in this. the police have been documenting the dispute for two years without making an arrest.
the issue is that street entertainment is not regulated in this town. in cases like that, the unwritten busker code takes over. there are no reserved spots. it's strictly first come first served and nobody sets up so close to anybody else playing that it disturbs their busking. the first time this happened and i asked them to move, the drummer attacked me, bounced my head off a pillar and with blood all over my face, they convinced the cops i attacked them and they were just defending themselves.
