Not Just Bikes / r/fuckcars / Urbanists / New Urbanism / Car-Free / Anti-Car - People and grifters who hate personal transport, freedom, cars, roads, suburbs, and are obsessed with city planning and urban design

Before there were anti-car urbanists, there were anti-train urbanists:

The means of transport may change over the centuries, but the desire of the elite to limit normal people's movement is eternal.

This is why I always point people to the post on the "A view from the cycle path" blog titled "The [Netherlands] car-free myth" (a) because it essentially spells out the end goal. Not only does the author see air travel as a problem (as do many urbanists despite planes not being cars), but trains and buses are hecking problematic too and having an impact on muh environment. He spells it out quite clearly:
David Hembrow said:
We need to travel less. Sailing ships and bicycles have no emissions. Everything else does.
Except he's not even correct about them having "no emissions." How do you think they're manufactured? And after they get rid of everything else, what makes you think they won't come for the bicycle too?

I look forward to these people talking about the dangers of bikes and 'Bikebrained' individuals, and posting their rikshaws loaded with groceries for a five hour trip back home, because let's be honest here, these retards probably think the Amish horse and buggies are somehow evil.

They would, if it wasn't more convenient for them to forget about the existence of horses in the first place. They always push the myth that cities were somehow pedestrian paradises before the car invaded and ruined everything. No they weren't. They were filled with literal horse shit. But that destroys their entire narrative so you will never see an urbanist use the word "horse" or acknowledge that horses exist.

Do these niggers really think you can just gentrify rural areas?

Of course they fucking do, because everyone knows you can just plop infrastructure down there anywhere, not like people live and work and farm in these places.

Stay the fuck in your bughives and let me enjoy scenic drives through the country with the windows rolled down faggots.

Europe was practically deforested to build her mighty sailing ships too.

I haven't personally but I've litter in places where it could only have come from inside a car, and this was in the English countryside.
You see it along highways in the US too. Pisses me off but I'm not autistic enough to pull over and clean a half mile that will be full of trash the next day anyways. I leave that job to the felons looking to reduce their sentences. These are the types of people who probably never clean out their car and let trash build up in it to the point the car fucking reeks and there is rotten food on the floor.

I love how they have a hatred for large petrol trucks when they love buses and trains, even larger and high polluting diesel vehicles. They then try to get around the pollution argument by saying that buses and trains fit more people therefore reducing carbon emissions because that's less cars on the road. But buses and trains are often not full or even 3 quarters full, plus they are driving for longer and making bigger journeys than people do in their cars. I think it's just jealousy for not being able to afford a 100k pickup truck

Bugmen will never take any shots at their CO2 polluting Consoom Barges

You don't understand, they NEED cheap Chinese made Funko pops, its a basic necessity, same with their organic Asparagus from peru, never mind the vast amount of fuel spend to get it to the supermarket or that its quite literally destroying the water table in Nazca which will eventually cause an ecological collapse, its heckin organic.

It's not jealousy exactly or rather they aren't jealous of others having cars. They are jealous and frustrated that other people are content and even happy with cars when they aren't.

There are multiple reasons why these people hate cars. Some have naturally low need for at moment and so mostly think about them when cars get in their way. Others are autistic and have sensory issues around cars. Some have high anxiety issues and find cars scary because of potential accidents. Some buy climate hysteria and genuinely believe that cars will kill us all. Some like biking and cars and biking often get into a conflict witch cars tend to win because more people drive than bike. Then there those who just want to control others but others are just doing their thing and annoys the heck out them.

I have, but it was in Portland, OR. So no surprise there really.
Well Portland is made up of trashy people. They'd throw trash off a bike as easily as a car.

I like the barges for being a feat of engineering and giving welders jobs. The bugmen like it as a chink plastic delivery system. We are not the same.

University football coaches are some of the highest-paid people in the entire system. I just checked, the latest guy they hired at my alma mater has a contract where he makes $7M a year. Said university is an enormous campus (in terms of contiguous land it owns, it's in the top 15 (about 5000 acres), basically rebuilt the football stadium (the last original parts were torn down about a decade ago and the rest, even the stuff built in the 1990s, has been extensively remodeled).

I have a lot to say about said university and how the machinations of ruination were set into motion years ago, but that's too powerlevel-y.
When asked about how much Alabama paid Nick Saban, who was the highest paid public person in the world, they said they wish they could pay him more because of the money his football coaching brought to the University. College football subsidizes every other sport and a lot more if they run a reasonable team. The problem is when smaller universities try to spend their way to the big dogs and end up upside down.
This throws another wrench into the urbanist myth that you simply can convert dense residential units to commercial units and vice versa.

To be fair they still seem to function as stores. But it's still hilarious to see.
Pre-war towns are full of multipurpose units that got stop being built because people didn't want to live in cities when you could live in a quiet safe neighborhood and you are traveling to and from work anyway so just stop there on the way home. Commercial was a buffer space between noisy and polluting industrial areas and your home.

NYC was filled with dead horses, since you couldn't exactly trace them. Imagine walking a mile to work and passing a giant rotting horse that no one can take away because the machinery to move a huge corpse wasn't available in demand.

They think life works like simcity, you just plop down some zoning and it fills up. Induced demand and all. Of course no one ever attempts that for some strange reason.

My local government relied on jail labor to do city cleanup and landscaping, except they can't do it any more because there aren't enough jail officers to police both and do work details. Democratic governance at its best.
