For all the recent talk of Nick potentially reaching his bottom soon, this latest mask off moment feels to me less like the end and more like the beginning of something. And the knock on effect this may have on the remaining friendships he has I think is a part of that.
as someone who loves making lolcow arc metaphors I think this is more Racket's pillstream moment. Hear me out: before the pillstream ralph had his moments being drunk/passing out on the killstream but in some cases it added or at least didn't take away from the show as other guests and such can make up for it (one of the corrine call ins come to mind). and once he sobered up it could be written off as "oh that crazy ralph at it again". Hell ralph even came back from taking a swing at that cop in a drunken rage.
I don’t know that Ralph ever had such a sharp turn frankly. This time last week I think most of the alawgs here would have said they’d be pretty happy if Nick sobered up, mended some bridges, turned it around and slowly worked his way back up, after that performance I think the mood has shifted a lot harder to being content watching him die in a frozen gutter.
