I disagree with the concept that Rekieta was always a cunt. He probably was always a spoiled brat to an extent, but I think Molly, AIDS cum, and other substance abuse killed that little voice in his head saying “Don’t do that, that is retarded.”

I know lots of people who take ridiculous quantities of drugs -- have done for years. Many of them would count as chronically addicted. None of them are cunts. (Yes, I've known the other type as well. The first time they do a line of coke, their cuntishness is made manifest.

Drugs don't turn people into cunts -- they simply amplify an already existing cuntish nature. So some people would sit through severe opioid withdrawal rather than take something that didn't belong to them. Other people will kick in your back door and rob you blind because they were out of weed. The issue isn't the drugs -- the issue is a complete lack of moral and ethical boundaries. But if your ethical boundaries are flexible to begin with, the stress that heavy end drug use introduces into your life may lead you to transgress boundaries that you might not otherwise have felt you needed to cross.

I’ve met people who it’s like a switch. For whatever reason all the filters they had evaporate. They start out nice enough and then they just become sour. They no longer want to put on airs and will only be nice to mooch off you.

I think Rekieta lacked a lot of shit that helps you build character: a shitty job when poor, a relationship that failed due to immaturity and acknowledgement of that, being in charge of others at a job, being unable to leave a job, and other shit.

A man's actions define him. If Nick's "John" retelling was based in any kernel of truth, neither party covered themselves in glory. Two lessons people should take from this:
