But as the reaction from the usual suspects shows its not actually abortion they're bothered by, it's not being able to control the bodies of girls and women and use forced pregnancy to punish them for perceived moral transgressions.

For more context Birth pills research has been in majority about producing generics lately, not new formulas with less bad secondary effects. It's one of these non ironic wonderful but yet incomplete tools which got the "meh good enough" treatment. We did really good progress about gynecology but it's far from perfect.
I agree with @Otterly about automaticly slapping the pills on the table for every teens, it's not a good idea, not all womens have the same body. It's a medical treatment and should be considered as like. Meaning seriously, and depending on the patient. This is not the time to fuck up and give ammunition to sex conservatives by making half the female population sick, and so banning all forms of contraception because we were unable to do things correctly (again).

Because hormones isn't for me, I had a copper IUD recently, I had to read a "consent to contraception" document which explained everything about the IUD and sign it to prove that I had taken into account all the risks. I know it's the same for implants. Why not having this for hormone pills? The number of myths about the pill is too damn high ffs.

Poland does not have a “conservative religious culture,” pick me. It had a conservative government for 8 years. Now it has a more liberal government. That’s the typical back and forth pattern of a democratic country.

Poland was one of the most liberal post communist states for fucks sake. They joined the EU.

You’d be surprised how much worse a country can get even when it’s bad now. Emergency contraception is a good thing to be available, this is Poland though so I’m thinking some major changes are coming soon.
