Brian1500 (+)Huge bump from the TJ-Taylor stream, will probably lose them all when he streams alone.
His average is closer to 30-50 most days. But he gets big punchy spikes when he does something weird, like when he painted his face yellow to do a Simpsons tier list or when he started his stream fully clothed in his bathtub.
I tuned in once and he was saying he feels retarded for acting so serious on the show and pulling stupid shit afterwards when he should've been just doing stupid shit on the show instead. Like I know I don't need to say it for the dozenth time but for a guy who was constantly seething about "we need to make content!!!!!!!" he contributed none of this goofy shit to the show, and he shoulda.

TJ2000 (-)He stopped streaming alone, I assume he can still pull at least 200.
Last time I saw him alone he started at 120 and bled down to 60-80 because he was playing chess.

More than the ESL I think Shinji's biggest barrier is he cannot stream often or for long due to school. Jimmy will stream unscheduled on consecutive days because he has empty evenings most nights, and will trundle on and on at least an hour after the expiry time of the stream because you can tell he's just vibing and doesn't have anything else he feels like doing. Shinji on the other hand comes in with lots of energy, looks ready, but has to dip after an hour on the dot because he's got someplace to be.

About Abi, I really think that is what she is doing. It's the fate of all freeloaders to be less popular than the fish and Trish, the only fish she bonded with, has seemingly closed Abi out. She can't hope to get in with TJ or Shinji because they didn't interact at all, and Tay's not giving her anything. Her views are scraping down to nothing so I really do think she is trying to suck up to Jimmy to stay afloat, which is just...... I don't know man, I gotta say it: if you're in this position, you're a bad fucking chess player, Abi!!!

anyone else think it is sad seeing how much they struggle to start streaming careers even after being on fishtank? i just feel that after getting your name out there on fishtank if you are only pulling in low 10s of viewers per stream then the dream is probably dead and you should get an actual job. i honestly dont see most of them being able to sustain themselves as streamers.

It's not that surprising if you just look at the numbers. Peak Fishtank numbers are usually around 10-15k unless it's the start/end of the show or something really crazy is happening, and iirc Sam's streams only pull in a few thousand average viewers. It's not like they are pulling in the 30-50k concurrent viewers that some of the biggest normie streamers do.

It's a decent sized audience but certainly not enough to leech off to start a lifelong streaming career. The most popular contestants streams seem to almost never crack 4 digit viewercounts, I think only Josie and Tay are making the equivalent of a full time low wage job.

I don't think it's really about starting a streaming career, it's about keeping a community around and keeping resources to do other stuff with. Jon doesn't get good views but he shows people there is at least more than no interest at all in cooperating with him. Perhaps this is a bad example but Sylvia only connected with her current boyfriend via streaming. Really having 50 views is miles above having 4.

I don't think any of them except Shinji thought they could go full time, it's more about keeping people interested in whatever they want to do at home.
Vance worked out his prank calling thing which is fun for him and keeps him in beer long term.
Jimmy, I assume, is going to attempt to auction shit, which will probably go really badly but you can at least follow the logic of why he would want the attention even if it's just from a small handful of people.

One Thing ive noticed (someone needs to educate on me this) is how much lower their follower counts are compared to S1. Unless im capping i remember Jon-Josie (possibly Letty) all getting over 10k followers extremely quickly. Most of the S2 fish seem to be at 5K

Trishles update: She posted on her IG story shes received her first P.O. Box package. It’s from a “secret admirer” apparently. Probably: DrPhilMyBalls or DantesPerenium would be my guess. Unless its Brian trying to do something funny

Last season Sam tweeted out a big "end credits" list of all the handles of fish and producers and repeatedly retweeted the fish when they went live. This season he didn't do anything like that at all.

Yeah Shinji probably thought that he would get a lot more viewers / engagement. I feel that he got disheartened and so now he's silently quitting, just like he did in the tank. The setup with "Crash" doesn't help much either, if anything he alienated more people having him act as a wingman for his streams.

Tayleigh has been a pleasant surprise. Actively interacting with the audience for the entire stream (paypigs and livechat "plebs" alike), seems to really enjoy it and she tries hard to be entertaining.
She could pass Josie in the future, as she has some talents that are compatible with a wider audience (crochet, guitar) and doesn't exclusively pander to fishtank orbiters. But it's really hard to go to 30k from 5k, and raising your active viewers needs tons of dedication and consistency in the long run.

The main cause of this is the fact that none of the top 3 fish gained exposure or did any extended post-tank collabs / Q&A with Sam and Jet like Letty and Josie did post S1.
Off the top of my head, Tayleigh was on the Alex Stein show for a 30 min segment (which again was nothing special and the audience doesn't really overlap) and Brian was on the freshly set-up Hong Kong podcast with Chris Lynch and Ben (which is sleep inducing and has 3k subs on its own). No other collabs with the main components of the show or anyone directly affiliated as far as I know.

I remember Sam and Jet actively endorsing everyone to support and subscribe to Josie and Letty's channels, in order to get them through the superchat and monetization barrier quick. They also had a 2-week (?) stay in RI, so they got mentoring on how to stream, from people who were arguably a lot more experienced. This can go a long way if you've never done this shit before. Lastly, I can only speculate on how much higher the numbers and current engagement would look like had that happened with Tayleigh for example (who can support her own weight and keeps up with the work).

It is of note here that Letty gave up on streaming after a couple of months of erratic content (which was almost only fishtank related) and even then she had accumulated from the total exposure about 15k+ subs on her YT which is still 3 times more than what the current fish have.
Most people interact with Fishtank from third party sources, like recaps, highlight clips and overviews, and also just because it's affiliated with MDE / Sam, so just a small bit of post-tank support would go a really long way on that regard.

Greg 500 (-)I think he's just making youtube videos.
He streams three times a week on twitch. https://www.twitch.tv/skitzy_va/schedule I don't have any viewership numbers for you though

Jon met up with Tai last night in Austin. Jon streamed all 12 hours of it. https://youtu.be/GXSt_kPOLGk I only saw like 15 minutes near the end of the night when they were driving around looking for a car that they couldn't remember where they parked. Netted a HUGE $56 from the entire 12 hours.

It's funny that Sam and the wiggers try to hype fish tank up as this thing that will give you massive exposure and make you internet famous, giving you an almost guaranteed streaming career afterwards. Most of the contestants even said exposure was one of their main reasons to even do the show; then they get out and most of them are streaming to sub 100 person audiences. Even the fan favorite spergs like Jimmy, Jon, and Cole don't do good numbers.

Whatever this is premiers in an hour on the Fishtank channel.
Edit: I didn’t read the description it’s a behind the scenes video about them setting up the house in the weeks before the show.
I honestly didn’t know jet painted all the walls and the weird stuff like the Dog house and weird carpeting were for the show. I thought it was left over from when the house was used as an Airbnb or something. I didn’t think jet would put that much effort into something actually creative for the design

i get the feeling that sam knows it isnt going to make them a big streamer and he is just messing with them. after all how else are you going to convince most of them to spend 6 miserable weeks in a house with no outside contact, no phone, no internet, and in the end they make only about as much as they would from a decent normal job? exposure really is the best carrot on a stick to get them on the show.

Someone earlier in the thread mentioned that Brian might be a ex stoner (which seems pretty believable to me). I think he (Brian) mentioned something about smoking weed during one of his streams but this might be misinformation as i can’t 100% remember exactly what it is he said. It might have been something about not being to smoke weed anymore without having a coughing fit
It's no rumor, CK described her most romantic date as the time she and Brian went to a weed festival in Michigan

You know, I somehow see why the contestant selection wasn't great.
just finished watching it. i wasnt left with a positive opinion of the wiggers after watching this.

I disagree, mental issue and medication aside I believe the cast was fantastic. I definitely would have gambled and selected Megan since she seemed like a natural hellraiser. Shinji was fine as well, but if I were casting for S3 I'd refrain from anyone ESL as both seasons it has become an issue. First with Simmons then Shinji being incapable of understanding slang, accents, idioms and vague things that indirectly imply stuff. The only person that has done it well is Tai and his entire gimmick is pretending he doesn't know what is going on with his deadpan delivery of everything. Fishtank has a lot of downtime and it needs strong conversationalist, Shinji was full of great stories and was funny but it was torture trying to listen to him and required you to listen intently. The further you got into the season and the less fish that remained the more this became a problem. TJ was also a serious issue in this regard with his anxiety issues. The final four for S1 could carry conversations at an extremely quick pace compared to the S2 final four.
