The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have announced they will step back as "senior" royals and work to become financially independent.

In a statement, Prince Harry and Meghan also said they plan to split their time between the UK and North America.

The BBC understands no other royal - including the Queen or Prince William - was consulted before the statement and Buckingham Palace is "disappointed".

Senior royals are understood to be "hurt" by the announcement.

In their unexpected statement on Wednesday, also posted on their Instagram page, the couple said they made the decision "after many months of reflection and internal discussions".

"We intend to step back as 'senior' members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen."

They said they plan to balance their time between the UK and North America while "continuing to honour our duty to the Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages".

"This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter, including the launch of our new charitable entity."

A Buckingham Palace spokeswoman said discussions with the duke and duchess on their decision to step back were "at an early stage", adding: "We understand their desire to take a different approach, but these are complicated issues that will take time to work through."

The couple's announcement on Wednesday comes two months after the Duke of York withdrew from public life after a BBC interview about his ties to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who killed himself in August.

The question is will the dairy queen, little caesar and ronald mcdonald be present at the coronation, with a chained up and muzzled A&W root bear in support of fast food royalty. He really should go for it, its the only chance he'll ever have to ascend any thrones

He'll never be the spare in the burger kingdom and will be able to pass down his crown to his son as Henry II. Somehow seems fitting considering he's half black and has a hoodrat mother. He'll rule a kingdom that employs thousands of hoodrats and his mother can become the burger queen and official spokesskank of the burger kingdom. There, the DM, some of the other Brit papers, and other gossip sites.
A lot of it was mixed in with anger that he wasn't asked to come to or needed in England, and it was obvious Harry only showed up to make himself look good.

Like it or not, Camilla is now QUEEN of England. Harry is just Charles spare son, who has the gall to complain about being the one Charles loved instead of needed. Imagine the nerve of asking the King to keep his wife out of the room to spare his disgraced loser traitor son’s feelings.

Also, Camila is the woman Charles always wanted, not Diana. Sure, he was devastated when she died and likely saddened that they divorced, but he loves Camila and Harry more than he ever loved Diana.

IICR, back when the wedding happened, the idea was that Harry was "ok" with it for the sake of his father, something you can see in the pictures of the wedding. Everybody's smiling because, despite everything, they love their son, father, uncle, whatever. Harry's always gonna be moody over Charlie choosing Camila, but when the wedding happened, Diana was long dead and it wasn't Camila's fault that she died.

The idea that Harry was always against it comes after the publication of Spare, where Harry is saying what actually happened. People believe it because the rumors were always there and people are nitpicking the pics of Harry when he looks mad. But the wedding also has pics of him when he looks happy. The same Newsweek article has a video also made showing that Harry's having a good time during the wedding. Him being moody during the wedding because he's remembering his mother would be in fact something normal that happens whenever someone is remarrying, whatever the reason. That doesn't mean you hate the new spouse. And the books says he's happy for him.

We might never know what's the deal, but although is possible he accepts Camila out of love for his father and he never really accepted her, there is probably a lot of gaslighting trying to remind him of his mother to make him more sensitive to the current manipulation he's a victim of by Meghan is also happening. Meghan seems to try to get him away from all feminine figures of his life except his death mother and herself.

Her fake tan bugs me more than it should, but it’s just so bad. New photos just released by the Gruesome Twosome show just how ridiculous it looks. Her face and body are Tango orange while her hands are porcelain white (with lots of age spots).

But she said herself that she had never been treated like a black person before going to dating harry. Its Interesting she said that because it shows she was passing ( and posing as being Italian or from malta, all lies ). She definitely thinks herself above black people and went thru lengths to hide that heritage and is insulted to be treated like she were black ( whatever that means in her tiny little victim brain).
