It's funny because when the original leak happened, we had already discovered that Hedonism 2 happened on December 2. I assumed that Faran was mad at Nick for something so she was "confirming" the rumors about swinging to throw him under the bus. Especially since we don't know the actual date of those messages.

The entire point of it all is to distract from the “Nick wants to fuck other women” reality.

Kayla has gone along with it because she’s scared her husband is losing interest in her, worried he’s thinking of leaving and believing he’s going to (or already is) cheating anyway so at least she can supervise it this way.

Then add more attention and love bombing than she’s had in years for every inch she stepped towards agreeing or participated in what he wants and sulky, seething Nick everytime she was cold to the idea or didn’t want to participate. I think she would be extremely susceptible to Nick’s positive reinforcements and acquiescence in degrees when faced with his resentment, disappointment and cold shoulder treatment.
