All discussion of the candidates, updates and results should go here

For example- here's a video of Ted Cruz vying for world domination.

Also Hilary Clinton is a crook and nobody should have sex with her.

Discuss

(Note- The title will change as we get nearer the election, previous titles will be archived in the OP)

He doesn't have to pay those taxes because he lost 916 Million Dollars in a year. Don't be obtuse.

Here is a man that said hes smart to not pay taxes. He said its his responsibility to his company. Well, now we know he doesn't pay them because he lost the company a billion dollars. Not smart.

Also his fiduciary responsibility seemed to go out the door when he drained all the cash to pay for his lifestyle while his shareholders saw their holdings go from 35 dollars to 17 cents.

Thread: "Hey look, trumps done something that's obviously wrong AKA not paying taxes for almost 2 decades/ posting sad, salty tweets in the middle of the night like he's got nothing better to do"

Trump shill: "well that's perfectly a-ok its totally legit to do X and anyone who said its bad is a cuck hey did you hear Hillary wants to eat babies what a cunt trump doesn't was to eat babies he's just gonna skin em out of spite instead. HE's HIGH ENERGY LOL."

@Pikimon don't bother. Losing almost a billon in a year and spinning it into a giant, elthicly dubious tax scheme isn't acceptable. Anyone without compromised objectivity can see that.

They should have just elected John McCain in 2008 like it should have been. That way, the System wouldn't have been changed so much that Trump actually rose in power.

All throughout 2008, Obama said "Yes We Can"

It's Shock-tober, so I was kind of expecting another email dump from Julian Assange by now.

Forgive me but this is crap. Trump is writing off taxable income against an assessed loss, something that is allowable in almost every tax jurisdiction. It is not a scheme, it is something that revenue services allow so as to not unfairly penalise you by taxing you on "profits" one year when your net cash flow position has taken a hit by a loss.

I have no idea why this is a story, I'm not sure how it works on submission there but here the tax software AUTOMATICALLY writes off your profits against this on assessment.

OK perhaps scheme wasn't the best term but trump keeps telling me he's this great business man but he keeps creating wreckages and finding ways to profit.

Joel Rosenfeld, an assistant professor at New York University's Schack Institute of Real Estate. Rosenfeld offered this description of what he would advise a client who came to him with a tax return like Mr. Trump's: "Do you realize you can create $916 million in income without paying a nickel in taxes?

In full context this is what Hillary actually said.
She's saying that it makes sense for millennials to attach themselves to a political revolution because of how shit opportunities are for them.
Having your thoughts and opinions watered down to tl;dr being an idealist who's life sucks is insulting.

The article linked with those tax forms appears to be demonizing LLCs. You know, the most common way any business venture is initially formed in the US. LLCs, to my knowledge, do not get any special tax considerations as compared to any other corporation. The main reason they are formed is to shield business owners from private liability in court judgements.

And calling carrying losses forward a loophole is asinine. It has been intentionally and explicitly written into the federal tax code forever as an element of fairness. People uninvolved in owning a company have the same ability granted to them with capital gains losses, which they can carry over for years to offset future gains. Again, not a loophole when it works as designed.

The only thing about those returns that raised an eyebrow for me was the $7M+ of interest income, which indicates upwards of $300M sitting around in bonds. I didn't think Trump had that kind of money in the early to mid 90s. I thought all his money was tied up in real estate at the time.

Trump probably has a lot of money tied up in related party loans between his companies that attract interest. It won't be coming from bonds largely.

So I'm late to this (sorry, non-American so I'm just watching this issue from the back), but I don't get what is up with anti-Trump voters with his stance against Muslims. They think he's being racist and intolerant, but on the other hand, are these people blind to the events around them? All these attacks and rapes recently in many parts of Europe ARE scary, and it's obvious people like Trump and his followers don't want the USA to evolve into that. Paranoid, yeah, since not all the Muslims yada yada, but on the other hand, these attacks are happening and keep happening, and the officials are just allowing them to happen without any punishment or security for the victims.

But weirdly enough they just ignore these attacks, or pretend nothing bad is happening. It's just...why? Are they just not interested in news outside the US, or is typical leftist thought of "uwu multicultarism is great brown people!" like in the Orlando shooting that they avoided the big elephant in the room?

They think that US is still far from reaching the tipping point in terms of being able to accommodate and assimilate refugees. US has population equivalent to EU, but US has only taken 50 000 refugees compared to the millions taken by EU. They think that US-style Anglo assimilation is superior to EU style multi-kulti

They think that US military interventionism responsible for the wars in Middle East and US will be to blame for more deaths among people fleeing that region.

They think that majority of refugees are secular, university educated, middle class professionals from Syria and Iraq.

Wow Trump doesn't like paying more in taxes than he's legally obligated to.

What a monster.

It's like you don't realize that somebody who has fucked over everyone he's ever encountered or done business with will do the same to the country if he's put in charge of it by morons who admire someone who shits in their face for some reason.

Yes. Americans--whether left-wing or right-wing--are notoriously uninterested in following current events in other countries. Honestly, I doubt that a lot of people who intend to vote for either Trump or Hillary have heard of things like the New Year's sexual assaults in Cologne, Germany, and so the reaction from both sides of the political spectrum is limited to domestic issues, with the left-wingers assuming that any anti-refugee platform is just based on general racism and the right-wingers agreeing with Trump because they are afraid of Muslim immigrants without knowing any specific cases where they have caused trouble.

Naturally, #notall are as ignorant, but I don't think that your average working-class Trump supporter follows international news closely enough to be aware of these issues, and a lot of Hillary's supporters are just as unaware.

Which is why I'm voting for Snoopy.
