Actually, everytime the Bible refers to "born again" is a reference to reincarnation. The Christ returning and producing the "resurrection of the dead" is a reference to reincarnation.

It is a form of religious epiphany in which one who did not believe in the One True God (and later, when Christianity became the dominant religion, believe in Christ) renewed the soul by accepting Him into his/her heart. It's not just silly that he likes to pretend to be Jesus. Brad is a practicing churchgoer, and takes his faith extremely seriously (albeit a warped and heretical distortion of it).
