I don't think a state should be forced to apply law that it has found unconstitutional in its courts, and I didn't find Randazza's argument trying to distinguish between the statutes very convincing. I think they're similar enough.

Even if he did same day turnaround on a flight it would probably be $10K minimum tacked on top of the bill that already exists to prep for the hearing, just for Randaza to physically appear.

I wouldn't say it's typical. Going over the caseload for the week, a lot of dry and/or esoteric sounding cases are on the docket. Flip side, there were people streaming the Derek Chauvin appeal. So it's not unprecedented but also not a regular occurrence.
Imagine if nick loses the case the same way Vic did. It would be a fitting end after getting fleeced by his lawyer.
