The problem is that even if you are entirely neutral with Phil and truly objective with facts and without any kind of personal takes, he still comes off as an asshole and a despicable person who became a living joke because of his own incompetence, and that's something he doesn't get.
(May be out of order but you get the idea)
Even IF you decide to ignore all the context that led to Phil going from semi-respected figure on the YouTube gaming community to lonely almost-was streamer with a big hatewatch audience and just say that "oh, then his views started to dwindle because that's life I guess" and basically make a puff-piece that paints Phil as an honest guy who lost prominence due to no fault of his own, or luck, or sticking to his methods and not wanting to become mainstream, there is still the issue that to this day he's still not a good guy. It's the same thing that happened to Wings after the Boogie fight: people cheered for him, saw how he truly is on stream and left. You can make a multi-millionaire publicity campaign for Phil and it will still fail because he's an asshole. I'm sure that by now Joon has realized that Phil downright lied or omitted important details about his career, so even if Joon doesn't feel insulted by this and still tries to go with a 100% Phil-sided documentary, he still has to say that Phil is a retard who had money, popularity and influence and still fucked it all up because of his ego.
Also, "decline" is actually the right word to describe Phil. I don't have the graph, but he's been losing views since at least a decade and he's been begging for views and engagement ever since, hence why he adopted direct capture and decided to sell it as a novelty rather than the absolute bare minimum for a gaming youtuber
* Only child from a upper-middle class family
* Nothing remarkable during his school years aside being the valedictorian in high school
* Got a reputation on the FGC for being an insufferable troll who tried way too hard to be a WWF-esque person and couldn't back up his claims because he sucked
- Despite having some locals under his belt, none of them are remarkable
- His biggest accomplishment (4th place at EVO) was during a tournament that pros actively decided not to enter, which Phil took advantage of
* Was in the right place at the right time when YouTube gaming videos started to become popular and fully took advantage of the algorithm (although unintentionally)
- Even back in the day, he was divisive and wasn't as well respected as he now tries to claim (even back in 2011-2012 he was complaining about trolls and blocking comments)
- Some people legit used to think he was playing a character because he was that retarded, so he wasn't an authority on the gaming community
* Failed to adapt and get with the times (direct capture), often insulting other creators like Pewdiepie just for existing and becoming more popular while he was bleeding subs and views
* Started dating PandaLee, a fan, shortly after she turned 18, and even if you want to say that Phil isn't a pedo and that she was an adult when they started dating, there's no excuse for her being barely over 18 and Phil being like 10 years older than her
* Project 7, which failed because he kept using the money on himself, refused to pay the editors and lied about them saying no and even got mad when people preferred John Rambo over him
* Allienated so many fans on his forums that they became haters, thus TIHYDP
* Refused to take a joke which (by his own current words) had valid criticisms, especially since Phil claimed to be a true gamer and a pro back then
* Eventually destroyed his friendship with Rambo and Panda ran away
* Faded into obscurity, only gaining notoriety again because he was beating off on the only room with a camera on his house, which happened to be on
* Never changed or learned to take criticism, also never stopped attacking other creators and still felt entitled to success despite being way behind his contemporaries
* Became a hardcore e-begger, often doing fundraisers for himself and more often than not using the money on other things or just being dishonest about money, which prompted people to start keeping a record on his income
* Started dating Kat, another fan of his and married her
* It was revealed that he makes enough money to live off decently, but still cried poor every time and guilt-tripping his audience became a regular thing. This also happened to match his claims of playing mobile games
* Declared bankruptcy and lied on his filing, somehow got away with it
* His bank leaks and a shitload of "circumstancial evidence" effectively proved that he's spent +100k on WWE Champions and continues to do so
* To this day continues being a shithead to his audience, insulting other creators, developers and basically everyone that offends him slightly in any capacity while still claiming he's better than other creators, continues e-begging and guilt tripping his audience
