I doubt that today's hearing has anything to do with it. Even the non-practicing blackface lawyer would realize the silliness over getting all worked up over this one appeal to the point he couldn't stream, especially since the results are still probably weeks away.

The way I remember things, he did seem nervous at points with the ethics complaints but not to the point of it impacting his streams or life. Although that feels like a lifetime ago and before he completely nosedived, I think he's shown that he is capable of handling certain things and waiting for the results. So my vote is the fatal fever is just more of the usual cuckoldry and substance abuse that has been fueling his self destruction and unrelated directly to Monty or today, although the Monty stress surely isn't helping anything.

It's my understanding that the fee shifting would only occur if Nick wins the appeal AND Judge Fisher dismissed the case on Colorado SLAPP grounds after it's sent back to her. In most (any?) other situations, it's each side bears their own costs (aka "The American System"). So Nick really needs to win on SLAPP grounds for this whole thing to not be a gigantic money sink for him.
