I had this thought during the create depression is that unless it fucks with the money Valve will not care. The sad thing is a proper #savetf2 movement will be not spending / trading (an actual boycott) in Valve puts effort into fixing things but it will never happen.
I think it would be pretty funny if nobody bought the seasonal slop during the next update, taunts included, just to prove that they were capable of sending a message. But then Valve might use that as an excuse to go "well it's not making us any money anyways" and pull the plug after all. But the former will never happen because there will always be consoomers. Tacobot started as almost an absurd parody of the super toxic subsection of the mvm community. The people originally involved like herald11 and Bill Gaither acted so insane and retarded that it wrapped back around to being funny sometimes, even if they were being completely serious. It was a small and very ridiculous corner of the mvm community that stayed in their own lane in mannup until the DeWill video came out and put them into the mainstream. This video single handedly turned them into the big bad boogeyman that really only consisted of a dozen active members at the time. Now any and every remotely toxic person is labeled as tacobot, despite the group being very small and tight-knit.
The group eventually attracted some genuinely deplorable people after this video dropped that weren't just mvm retards. For example this fucking guy who sharked a kid out of that golden pan for $1000 and, until recently, openly bragged about it saying "you get what you deserve" with an imgur link to the PayPal transaction in the item description. I'm guessing he saw how bad this looked and wiped the description.

Bill was never serious in those videos. I can't speak for Herald because I've not spoken to him much, but I've been personal friends with Bill for years. I wasn't there, but I can believe it. I know of at least one tacobot member who was ejected after being caught playing with cheaters. I tend to give them the benefit of the doubt for not cheating, not because they're altruistic or anything, but purely because of the unbridled autistic hatred many of them have for cheaters.

Very true. I have personal reasons to really dislike Weezy, but I think his videos are a net-positive for the MvM community. That being said, his comments are an absolute gold mine. Funny you mention that, I'm actually the person that convinced Bill to buy lmaobox and cheat with me. I personally don't care if someone cheats or not, but I get why he's defensive about it. Maybe showing my power level a bit there, but I'd be happy to give you a run-down of the events that happened if you're interested, but this post is long enough already.
But really it's actually a pretty unremarkable story. I met Bill in 2018, and by that point I had been cheating in casual on-and-off for a few years. I hadn't done it for awhile, but sometime early in 2019 the itch struck me so I started cheating in casual again. I had also been getting into MvM, so I did some of that as well. Eventually I told Bill about it, he thought it was funny, so we did some cheating in casual and MvM together. I actually got an Australium Blutsauger during one of these missions and still have the recording of the drop. To make a long story short, me and him stopped talking for awhile over a falling out, during that he stopped cheating and "came out" about what he had been doing.
As for why he gets so defensive about it, that part is pretty simple: because it makes him look like a hypocrite.

He has an extremely long history of RATting & scamming people (even today!), & I wouldn't doubt he has some shady shit going on with Rijin, he also copyright claims any videos on YT that even slightly criticize his cheat/supreme authority, or re-upload the gem that is his vines. (He will also rage ban you from his cheat if you make even the slightest joke towards him or in the forum)
Rijin has been very open on scamming their users/exit scamming, they did it with their Rust userbase back in the day, as well as R6S, Apex Legends, Escape From Tarkov, and most recently Overwatch 2, though OW2 seemingly seems more innocent since they were hit with a lawsuit from Blizzard. The best part about this was that TO GET ACCESS TO BUY THE CHEAT, you would HAVE to send your legal ID card & your address AKA DOX yourself! (I'm not fucking kidding). This was to "see" if you were not a game developer or some higher-up, when in reality, it was to laugh at you and use it as blackmail, or to just outright Dox you if they feel like it. It is also not a coincidence that they only make cheats for Source Engine games nowadays, which are famously known for being some of the easiest games on Earth to make cheats for & how garbage VAC is.
The funniest thing is that Senator/2cash shut (majority) of those cheats down because he paid for Anti-Cheat bypasses that got patched in a couple of months, aka he's retarded and can't code. They also strictly state in the TOS that they will provide refunds, keep in mind that Rust/EAC/BattlEye cheats are not cheap, they can go for thousands of dollars, to 100s a month, especially ones that are private with good security, which is what Rijin promised. (All of these mentioned cheats went for these prices).
Senator/2cash was also behind the infamous cheat known as "Treadhack" back in the days of CSGO, it was a NOSPREAD HvH ONLY cheat, which if you are not aware, nospread HvH is one of the most niche & boring types of HvHing you can do, he was selling this cheat for unironically upwards to $500+. He boasted that it would "own" Skeet, which back in the day was considered thee Jesus cheat of CSGO, and people would literally kill each other just for an invite to get permission to buy the thing. Later down the line he ends up, drumroll....... scamming tons of people, and disappears for a bit, aka the 2cash cycle. The cheat also had a RAT in it LOL!
Lots of this stuff has been lost to time due to 2cash's autistic obsession with shutting it down (oy vey), I cannot even find any of his Vines anymore, or any with actual audio, allot of the old videos calling him out/organizing his autism have been copyright struck, but thankfully his ED is still around which archives his very early rise of supreme wheelchairism. I could also bring up allot more niche retarded shit, like how he works with Rud (creator of the cheat Lithium), who has just as an infamous background as 2cash, but you only need the basic rundown to know how much of a fag this guy is.
