The longest and most amusing, delivered by this lisping faggot who I don't think could more than a year past law school, was basically a very rambling, poorly constructed last-ditch attempt to invalidate the entire thing by throwing literally anything at the wall he could and seeing if any of it would stick... He went from some argument about appearance of impropriety vs actual impropriety, to trying to argue that even if there WAS impropriety it didn't matter to the case, and that even if there was impropriety it wasn't actually impropriety anyway because there was no direct evidence of financial enrichment from it.

Pretty much literally "my client didn't do it, but even if she did it didn't hurt nobody, and she should be allowed to do it anyway".

The judge did not seem to be buying it, if his few pointed questions are any indication.

They lost their chance already in 2016 and have been coping and seething in denial ever since. Even if Brexit had failed and Trump hadn't happened they still needed way WAY more things to go perfectly well for them to pull off their plans, and truth is they have never really planned for this. A lot of these plans have been made by people who literally cannot understand the workings of the people they want to manipulate, who cannot understand the secondary and tertiary effects of their decisions and who are just high on their own self importance to the point of hubris.

There's been many instances of this sort of thing working for a while. A generation or two. It never works for long because these types of people fundamentally cannot conceptualize the worldview of people who disagree with them, and have a fundamentally flawed view of humanity in general. Who knows how adding modern tech to the mix is gonna work.

Since they are now calling for "common sense speech restrictions" a-la "common sense gun control" it really does feel like they're on a timeline and fuck our reaction to it, they need to get some of these laws and culture shifts through before 2030 and Trump fucked the timeline up hard.

If we're selling out at $10K a unit, why not sell those units for $15K? Maybe $20K? It's happening in more than one industry.

This depends on era and locality. There is a book that I'm forgetting the name of, but its the diary of a Pope from when he was doing inquisition duty as a low level priest in southern France. A notable passage is the wife of the duke passing through the town and one of the village women catches her eye, she immediately discontinues what she was doing and rushes to hug her and has a serious conversation about how the peasant woman was fairing because she had just given birth to a child. Its the nobility of the late 18th and 19th century that we tend to get the image of the nobility being disconnected from the peasantry, the further back you go in time the more connected they were on a day-to-day level and they certainly did give a fuck about the peasants under their banner.
