All discussion of the candidates, updates and results should go here

For example- here's a video of Ted Cruz vying for world domination.

Also Hilary Clinton is a crook and nobody should have sex with her.

Discuss

(Note- The title will change as we get nearer the election, previous titles will be archived in the OP)

Muhammad Ali did a great thing, but I don't believe individuals should have to be imprisoned and be stripped of their livelihood in order to be "justified" in wanting to live their life without being shipped across the world to kill the natives of another country.
If it were that easy to get out of an immoral institution, they'd never had to build prisons to force people there in the first place and there'd be no need for men to do what Ali did at all.

Yeah I know what happened to Wakefield. This is going to be slightly off topic, so I've spoilered it:
It might surprise you, but most expectant parents don't actually follow the Lancet. In fact a lot of them don't read any medical journals at all. These days there are three primary sources they get information from - friends and family, mommy blogs/forums, and medical professionals. That's in order of most listened to to least. It's insane. So they listen to their friends and mommy blogs and forums, where the overall message they get is 'you know, I know a woman whose sister had a friend whose baby died after getting vaccinated! I just don't know that it's safe.' And when you are expecting, you don't weigh up things rationally, because it's your child's potential life at stake here. And while rationally even if your kid could get autism that would be a damn sight better than meningitis or whooping cough, nobody has seen someone suffer from those diseases, whereas they all know someone with autism. It really doesn't matter that the autism link has been definitively disproven, like the saying goes, a lie can travel half way around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes. This should not be surprising to anyone who has seen homoeopathic remedies or detox diets for sale.
Trump isn't an expectant mother, and even if he was, the study's redaction was national news over half a decade before said retarded tweets.

Dumb mothers behaving in this fashion is unacceptable. For a presidential candidate? You might as well put a tee-ball player on the Yankees.

See those last two? Those ones you should call him on. Because he was actually running for president when he said them. I didn't know about those because any time it comes up people just quote that exceptional tweet. That's why I used the super predators comparison, which nobody really gives a shit about any more.
Bringing up the old ones is entirely valid. It shows this isn't a one-off on his part. By Trump standards, this is as close as he gets to public expression of genuine beliefs.

Even though his beliefs about Beyonce and white supremacy, France's culpability in the November attacks and calling Barack Obama an Uncle Tom aren't?
It's almost as if I was making a joke about how Trump's positions are indistinguishable from what people justifiably excoriate fringe lunatics like Buchannan and Baraka for.

Edit:
I thought you'd said this, but I didn't grab it when I quoted you so I thought I imagined it. Anyway I just wanted to say that I agree 100%, if the msm were willing to make their favourites justify saying shit like this Trump wouldn't have made it through the primaries.
True, that's why we're completely fucked for the forseeable future.

Man, it seems like all celebrities need to do is just say "Fuck Trump" and fans will literally lose their shit in applause.
I'm not saying he doesn't deserve it, but Christ, people are just so fucking preachy about it.

Patton Oswalt is a prime example, he can't go a waking hour without reminding the world how much he hates trump.

Reminds me of this.

Trump supporters, how do you explain this? Can we feasibly have a president who completely disregards the environment?

Does that mean believing vaccines might cause autism, environmentalism is a sham, and tax loopholes ranks up there with treason, destruction of evidence, and funding of terrorism. It's interesting how politics works.

Sigh.... I'm so tired of hearing about something that, as far as I was always aware, was a basic fact about the entire life of the world. Every freaking four months we go through a type of "climate" change if you think about it.

(and oh, I know how bloody passionate you are about the cause, but there are far greater time bombs ticking than what you believe)

What is the president going to do? His only power is to veto or sign legislation. He doesn't solely have the power with the stroke of his pen to legalize mass-pollution by all corporations starting on his inauguration day.

His advisors and cabinet picks will tell him to stop being retarded and advise him on what are prudent decisions regarding the environment. Listen to what he has said after that tweet instead of solely pointing at it and calling him dumb for his years-old statement.

Valid maybe, but that's not my issue, my issue is that the tweet is all that is mentioned, like it's the smoking gun. Bringing it up in the debates should be the thing that's brought up, because like I said, people just don't care about some tweet he made two years ago. I get the feeling you think I'm defending Trump, but like I said before, I think you should nail Trump on his dumb shit. You can do better than that tweet though.

It's almost as if I was making a joke about how Trump's positions are indistinguishable from what people justifiably excoriate fringe lunatics like Buchannan and Baraka for.
We are currently in the middle of a slapfest between an anti-vax birther reality tv star, a criminal who called black teens super predators and held a seance in the white house and two people who are even more crazy, I can't tell what's a joke any longer.
True, that's why we're completely fucked for the forseeable future.

Add the Charlotte Observer to the Hillary camp.

I'm still looking for a newspaper that endorses Trump.

I'm still looking for someone under the age of 80 who reads newspapers.

Harsh, but true. The sort of person pumped about Trump won't be swayed by lack of endorsements -they don't read or respect newspapers. The old fellas may have in their halcyon days, but the young fellas never did.
