Furry Fandom and Drama General

Agreed. I can't see someone like Nixon being a furry, even though he was a pretty uptight dude prone to drama. Of today's politicians, I guess the only one that comes to mind who may be a closet furry is Gov. Jerry Brown of California.

My theory is that Hitler was a closet furry.

Loved dogs and wolves and called himself "Herr Wolf" as a pseudonym.

If the internet had existed back then, perhaps he would have kept his ambitions limited to drawing his wolf fursona.

That's an interesting thought, perhaps that's why he secretly loved the Disney stuff himself. It was the closest he could ever get.

I'm now envisioning that Hitler actually sent Walt Disney the script for Zootopia under like a pseudonym... probably Rudolf Wulf or something like that, and the new heads found it in a vault and revamped it. It's a glorious image.

I bet he wouldn't have sucked a pistol if he had known that there was a chance he could live to see Disney's Robin Hood.

Wow dude Zootopia is way better

ha ha ha...nooo. Nothing beats Prince John and Sir Hiss.

I was browsing some of Narse's art to fufill my dragon pr0n kick, and came across the artwork for his story, and decided to check out why there's so much fanart of his shit

And man some of his journal posts and submissions are just lulzy gold

pretty much MUH OCS, WHY U FAP, WHY U THINK SEXY EVEN THO I WRITE SEXY STORY ABOUT HER DONT TOUCH MINE OC
(you're on a porn site, complaining about getting sexual comments is like a tumblr feminist complaining about why all the women are nude in lesbian porn, especially consideirng how popular your story is)

and his little dilemma of publishing his first "serious" novel(which in reality just sounds like your generic run of the mill sci fi shit) with his real name, and whether to cash in on his furry fan base or risk associating his name with dragon smut
http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/7026867/

just his tone in general, sounds like he's suffering from some form of autism

No one would want to read that "serious" novel of his. Where all the mythologies are real (Which Neil Gaiman already successfully did with "American Gods") and time travelling and "cute cuddly animals that talk and say fuck". I read his description of his novel and it sounds like an ABSOLUTE clusterfuck with almost no coherence. I feel like there could potentially be some good stories in there, but the way he describes his novel is like he is building an entire universe which would span a series of books, except this universe seems to have pockets of characters and settings that have little to nothing to do with each other.

Just because you put a lot of interesting concepts on their own, it does not mean that smashing them all together will make for a good book

I noticed that some of the most depraved, bizarre furry porn involve dragons. I have no clue why, and I'm not sure I want to find out. :(

It doesn't even have to be furry porn, dragons just seem to bring out the depraved autist in people in general. I've read stories from people who aren't remotely furry in the slightest that involve dragonfucking (just look at some of the more popular romantic novels for middle age women involving shapeshifters - if it's not a werewolf, it's almost always a dragon of some kind; double points if it's Scottish).

I'm not sure if this is a recent tradition if it's just somehow deeply rooted into the human subconscious somehow through mythology (such as all the various dragon-kidnapping-a-virgin-maiden medieval tales after all). Probably a weird mixture of both.

Dragons had a very "unique" way of entering the fandom. Back in the early days of furry pretty much everyone was relegated to things like foxes, rabbits, skunks, cats, wolves, and generally things that were "furry" in literal terms. This was a time when Tiny Toons Adventures, Star Fox, and Robin Hood ruled the fandom. "Scalies" were an extremely small minority. Dragons were usually associated with the otherkin fandom of the early Internet which wasn't really associated with furries as much as it is today (as a whole I feel like both communities have been grossly devalued by REEEE normies but that's just me :powerlevel: ).

At some point there was a crossover between otherkins and furries which resulted in dragons becoming more popular in the fandom. The types of nerds who are hardcore into dragons, the self-hating "I'm pretending to be a dragon because I am making up for a LOT of personal shortcomings" seemed to bring that mentality with them to the fandom. Things seemed to meld well enough at first, but since they came with their own unique baggage, they also ended up coming in with their own unique fetishes and fantasies. I'm not saying dragons ruined the fandom, but it's pretty telling when the top performing sex toy company serving the fandom has "Dragon" in its name.

Pretty much all furries pretend to be animals characters that make up for their own shortcomings though?
