Since a lot of people have the observations like the post above, would a situation similar to how the SuperMega drama be plausible? Let's say someone like Destiny or Turkey Tom publishes a long video essay on the Wilbur situation and gives similar points. Would that be enough to turn a good portion of public opinion to Wilbur's side? Or would it be scrutinized and deemed as defending abuse?

It's an interesting situation to me because right now Shelby has gotten what she wanted. Her ex is vilified and effectively blacklisted from the Minecraft community while she's being praised and supported for being a "victim".

I think it's especially gross that she made a point in the vod to emphasis how Wilbur is a "chronic liar" who is CONSTANTLY getting caught in lies whereas she's a goody two shoes that HATES the concept of lying and would never do such a thing. It's incredibly manipulative to paint Wilbur in such a way so that no matter what he says people will subconsciously assume he's full of shit while making sure people see her as a paragon of honesty.

I'm now noticing the irony of Shubble painting Wilbur as a closed off and dishonest individual, and herself as an open and honest one, yet it was him who confronted her about the problems in the relationship and laid out his cards. Her big complain about this was that it was at an inconvenient time and that he didn't tell her he would be staying for another week, not another 3 days Lol. But she never did the same, she didn't lay it all out or let him know she was "feeling so anxious [she'd] almost throw up daily", and after saying this she follows it up saying that he would never say how he was feeling. This is like the worst case scenario of Manchild x Womanchild, he acts like a sperg and she decides she was abused

I realized something important. After all is said and done, Wilbur lost his reputation within the minecraft community and is bleeding subscribers. Sure, he's deplatformed but now what? Do they honestly believe that it's effective in stopping his "abusive" ways? I think if he was truly an abuser then it's a blessing in disguise because he won't have a light shed on him anymore. This means that he is free to abuse other women outside of the public eye.

If these people actually cared about protecting vulnerable women and children, they would have gathered enough evidence to convict him of abuse. You're telling me this community that has creators making millions and is notorious for having scummy people can't come together to make a fund that will support legal action against abusers and pedophiles? You have all the time to make your shitty twitter statements and whine on your individual streams (while raking in donations) but you can't even set up effective measures to prevent another situation like this from happening. He recently took posts from twitter fags to court and got given discovery permissions or whatever to pursue each statment that stated abuse as fact because of his ex gf doing the same thing Shubble is now. AFAIK he's also pursuing legal action on her.

Wilbur should get tips from him. Go after his former mods, the main fans repeating the abuse as fact, and Shubble too. Whatever proof this 30 yr old woman (older than him) has would have gotten her laughed out of court and given absolutely nothing. Wilbur's reputation and livelihood as well as his band's are being intentionally and maliciously fucked with.

Like I think this is some shit where Shelby should've tried staging an intervention with some of Will's friends before going public with it.

It's the sort of relationship drama that early-20 spergs who are deeply into Minecraft have, being framed as wife-beating, cops called by the neighbors, crying at work and ending up in long term therapy, restraining order levels of domestic abuse.

The biting the lower legs so much she was hiding bruises part is just so off the wall stupid that it's practically non believable even if Wilbur is autistic enough to do so.
Someone else I saw posting about this mess made a good point about the friends situation-these streamers and youtubers are just glorified coworker buddies unless they actually went to school together or something. Shubble and Wilbur probably only have mutual friends in the context of all having the same career choice, not by any natural outside association.

Shelby HAS posted on twitter again about it, but it's for asspats and begging people to not go read a twitter account that lays out how she lied about the timeline of them breaking up and when she cut contact, as well as asking some of the same questions most sane people looking at this have.
