š• / Twitter / X, the Social Media Platform Formerly Known as Twitter / "MUSK OWNS TWITTER"

It's just classic "poor widdle me im the victim" that you see in all of the terminally online troons, like a Fire lite (wonder which one weighs more).

I'm just laughing at the lack of actual reciepts in that incoherent google doc. hbomberguy he ain't.

I'm old and unfunny, so I like da share z0ne's current output every now and then. The Admin character has a much more consistent 'voice' now.
I think the only credible or relevant receipt was jane being told that drew thinks she's flirting with his wife. The rest seem irrelevant or tangential.
She may have said she has more proof? (a)
I don't see the point in saying this unless you have more shit to post, probably just trying to intimidate
She also thinks her life is at risk, and may set up a gofundme (a)
And sent a guy goatse for pointing out a semi decent point (woah jane you totally got em!) (a)

Keep in mind, Drewtoothpaste hasn't said anything so far so she's basically just screaming at no one.

Technically?
If you have bots in members worlds, they need to pay for membership. But there are ways to bypass this, such as creating a million accounts during a "Free 7 days membership with Amazon Prime" promos and such.
That, and bots buy bonds with gp, bonds which cost $7.99, are sold by legit players for gp, and grant 2 weeks of membership. So in some ways, bots pay even more for membership in Runescape.

Unsure of where to post this since it spans multiple platforms. I believe it may have started on Twitter, so I'm gonna post it here. Feel free to move it mods.
remember those (un)funny ironic boomer memes that went by the name of "da share z0ne"? Probably not. They werent really remarkable past 2017/18, but ill give an example of what they made anyway.

They were doing a "weird twitter" thing before it was beaten to death with hammer, but if you're at all familiar with weird twitter gossip (first off you're gay) you've probably heard rumblings about shady shit happening with the da share z0ne account.

(If you don't care to read any further it's basically this)
I don't really feel like giving a whole plot synopsis since this isn't an OP post and I'm already putting too much effort in. Just gonna explain what happened.
  1. da share zone account made by guys in group chat
  2. Unfunny guy joins group chat
  3. No one tells unfunny guy he's unfunny
  4. Unfunny guy starts posting, then hijacks the account, somehow switching the original account owners phone number to a Google voice number
  5. Unfunny guy makes money and everyone else is mad
  6. One of da share z0nes original account owners (before unfunny guy took control) makes a Google doc poorly explaining what happened, inspired by...hbomberguy?
(Unfunny guy Is referred to as drew, his Twitter handle)
Archive of the doc

For context: Drew, also referred to as "Drew Toothpaste" is an old webcomic author and proto-memer. His webcomic Toothpaste for Dinner was popular in the early aughts. The whole thing went on for way too long of course and the guy is STILL updating but here are a few from 2003-4ish that might jog your memory.
playing-school.gifso-soft.gifstock-market-drinking-game.gif
His wife Natalie Dee also has a webcomic that was somewhat popular and memeable around the early aughts and is STILL being updated. They also ran Married to the Sea, which was really a pre-social media proto-meme page where they added captions to public domain illustrations... which is STILL being updated. Drew and Natalie are interesting in that they have been on the internet forever and were early adopters of content creation strategies that everybody knows now. I'm not surprised that Drew is a shrewd memelord who allegedly "steals" accounts. Thanks for the archives, I saw when the tranny started posting and teasing a doc yesterday and I did a classic "DREW TOOTHPASTE? I haven't heard that name in years" so I am quite interested in observing this drama from a safe distance.

There's also some fun to be had digging up crazy old stuff of Drew and Natalie, some people on twitter already started bringing up Natalie Dee's old blog where she tells stories about working phone sex.

Oh shit, thanks. I honestly never dug much into drew. As I wasn't really a webcomics guy at that age, but i had heard the comic mentioned before. I'll try to look into this more.

Apparently drew left jane in such a bad state she had to start a gofundme (a). This would be a really funny way to start a gift, depending on how this gofundme goes this may need its own thread.

DaShareZ0ne was, at one point in time, the best thing on Twitter. ā€œThe adminā€ā€™ character I think was supposed to be a superannuated Warez BBS mod, some insecure stoner stereotype who was stuck forever in that role. Old heads could relate.
The OTT graphical format and little side jokes often got a laugh out of me.

I forget when exactly but at some point a long time ago it just seemed to give up and coast on past recognition, only ever posted trying to sell merch, or dull current day issues. I went cold on it and never bothered buying anything.

It’s not surprising that the original author matches the character so well, a whiny loser. But it’s a shame he got cheated out of his creation, regardless of the money side of things.

Jane did say, or at least hinted at the admin character being recognized as a reflection of her by others in the group.

Also, felt the need to mention this since I just skimmed through the doc again. She seemed to view the project more as her own rather than a group project, to the point of possibly buying them out she said something like
"after a while it was mostly me, regulars were still contributing. But mine did the numbers"
Was she thinking of buying the page? Sure. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. Having your art stolen from you is terrible of course, having a visual aesthetic you cultivated for decades I guess stolen would be unimaginable. But why discredit others work? Especially if you didn't want it to become a content mill.

Why is she trying to provoke a response? That's one of the last things you want as someone in a creative career. drew has an equal, maybe even longer amount of time making "art". Probably more successful id argue. Not like some rando just hijacked the account.

Also this is the image that she's screaming at. Definitely not ironic. Not at all.
Histrionic behavior on display.

Reactions: Maginot
That is a great example of the lame SJW educational content that presumably Drew started posting. Where’s the joke?
It used to be funny, self deprecating and a bit edgy, and mocked Twitter mores rather than parrot them.
But whatever sells t-shirts I guess.

Still screaming at nothing. (a)
Honestly, this may be it. Drew hasn't said anything, and most likely will continue to keep silent. Jane's probably gonna continue to scream at nothing for a few weeks and then be sad that her gofundme didn't get enough money. Calling it now I guess?
One last thing...

On a lark, I went to my employers twitter account, just to see what is posted.

I'm not sure who runs the account but every reply to one of our company's rweets is "Nudes in Bio" or some version of that. A tweet about two of my coworkers getting invited to present a paper at an IEEE conference has about 30 porn bots reacting to it.

I'm honestly confused as to why we even bother.

many companies are in a situation where some marketing boomer hears about 'social media marketing' and how it's all the rage with kids these days, so they tell some clueless underling to set up and run some accounts.
some even produce youtube videos that end up sitting on the companys channel with like 75 total views after a year

Thermonuclear lawsuit not going so thermonuclearly well

X's lawyer, Jon Hawk, argued that when the CCDH joined Twitter in 2019, the group agreed to terms of service that noted those terms could change. So when Musk purchased Twitter and updated rules to reinstate accounts spreading hate speech, the CCDH should have been able to foresee those changes in terms and therefore anticipate that any reporting on spikes in hate speech would cause financial losses.

According to CNN, this is where Breyer became frustrated, telling Hawk, ā€œI’m trying to figure out in my mind how that’s possibly true, because I don’t think it is.ā€

ā€œWhat you have to tell me is, why is it foreseeable?ā€ Breyer said. ā€œThat they should have understood that, at the time they entered the terms of service, that Twitter would then change its policy and allow this type of material to be disseminated?

"That, of course, reduces foreseeability to one of the most vapid extensions of law I've ever heard," Breyer added. "ā€˜Oh, what’s foreseeable is that things can change, and therefore, if there’s a change, it’s 'foreseeable.’ I mean, that argument is truly remarkable."

According to NPR, Breyer suggested that X was trying to "shoehorn" its legal theory by using language from a breach of contract claim, when what the company actually appeared to be alleging was defamation.

"You could've brought a defamation case; you didn't bring a defamation case," Breyer said. "And that's significant."

Breyer directly noted that one reason why X might not bring a defamation suit was if the CCDH's reporting was accurate, NPR reported.

It has always been a stupid lawsuit. You can’t publicly announce you are going to allow certain types of speech back on twitter, like and retweet conspiracy theories, run a site with substantial glitches, then argue it’s someone else fault when advertisers leave.

Yeah, laught it up dude, your vanity project is an unusable mess bleeding money and you got humiliated having to wear a yarmulka to Auschwitz.
