The optimistic take on this is that the rumors are true and that there will be negotiations to end the conflict in Ukraine this spring. That she had to go because her being in that position in the state department meant that any attempt at negotiations would be sabotaged from the start.

But on the other side, the influence of her and her extended family will not end just because she is out of office. It never has and it never will.

Which role did he play? I recall there was a pretty decent plan under Trump's administration that got thrown out the window by Biden.

He is just temporarily holding the job until an actual replacement is selected. Putting him officially in that job would indicate some sort of total surrender or disaster was underway. Bass is only typically brought in to be the dumb fall guy in some situation where one is needed. He is always sent in to a situation when the policy has already failed and no sane person would want the job. He did it in Iraq. He did it in Afghanistan. He was even sent into Georgia in the aftermath of the failure of US policy there.

He was the last US Ambassador to Afghanistan. He resigned on January 6, 2020 and nobody ever even bothered to appoint a replacement for him. The second in command was in charge of the embassy in Afghanistan until the end.

The troon nuked his own twitter account and has not posted anything anywhere else in days. His last tweet was a picture of himself and some other "person" talking about the mystery of love.

I would put it all down to normal troon drama and a need for attention. I've not seen anything official to say that he is missing. Just a couple tweets by random people on twitter suggesting it. If he was really missing, I doubt he would have bothered to nuke his twitter.

If I had to pick the moment on a calendar when normie public opinion began to shift against Ukraine it would be when that thing in a wig appeared to preach to us. Support has been steadily dropping ever since.

Honestly I do feel for them, it’s like the Soviet Union/China/Cambodia/etc. when the purges started and people who thought things couldn’t get that bad or couldn’t leave their obligations were all trapped when the mass killings started.

One could even argue for Americans being in the start of that predicament right now.

He decided to pick a public fight with a US senator (J.D. Vance) over making journalists war targets. In the aftermath of that, he got told to take the wig and the dress off by the Ukrainian government. Which he did. Toward the end of 2023, he went on a Ukrainian military trip to the US and then stayed behind to investigate US immigration issues and tie them to Russia.

I stopped paying attention to him during his travels in the Americans. There are some photos to suggest he went back to Ukraine, but I don't really know.
