I always thought it was basic common sense that giving a child puberty blockers would cause a plethora of health issues. I have even had to explain this to certain people. It’s amazing how literal false information permeates society and is presented as fact.
information on a social scale travels through ideology. the overwhelming majority of people do not think analytically about most things, and I don't mean that pejoratively, like all normies have fallen short of my INTJ genius. it would perhaps be more accurate to say that the idea of "analytical" or "logical" thought is itself vanity. maybe some of you won't agree with me on this, but let's construct the foundation of this argument with a few central principles (forgive me if I'm belaboring the point):
- humans cannot directly experience reality. everything is filtered through sense perception and "truth" is not something humans have a sense organ for. so your personal experience of the world consists entirely of the potentially fallible, most likely incomplete stream of information you're receiving from your sense organs.
- since humans cannot directly perceive the shape of reality, all humans understand reality as an ad hoc model they've constructed in their heads based on those sense perceptions, as well as information from other humans about their own sense perceptions or internal models.
- these models often disagree between minds and may also totally disagree with whatever true nature reality may have outside of human perception. consensus is the only tool we have to combat this.
these internal models are what determine whether or not something seems reasonable to you. what you may regard as an analytical or logical judgment is more of a vibe check. for example, what if somebody told you they had an invisible pet dragon? surely you would disbelieve it, but what you think if he told you to reach out your hand into apparently empty space, and your hand touched something resembling lizard skin? it may be that invisible dragons have lived among us all this time. but even if that were true, you would be slow to accept this since it's so distant from how you have reality constructed in your head. in fact, you might be more likely to accept something that allows you to dismiss all of it rather than reconfigure your entire worldview.
this is the basis for how information travels in a society. people accept information and draw conclusions based on what fits in their internal models. these models are also reshaped by that information, redefining what kind of information is likely to be accepted in the future. whether that information is "false" or "fact" is not immediately relevant to how likely it is to be accepted, only how likely it is to vibe with what people are willing to believe is true. and that "willing to believe" part is the sticking point with modern liberal ideology.
from here, the rest of the picture should be easy to sketch out. how has WPATH and gender science achieved such a high degree of credibility? think about the defining features of liberal ideology. one, they're authoritarians: they want to believe that everything will work out as long as the adults are in control. even at their most cynical (Trump Derangement Syndrome) they cling to the idea that the ultimate panacea is just empowering the right person (Hillary, Mueller, Biden, etc) and that leaders that aren't showing obvious signs of malfunction (i.e. speaking wrongthink) should be trusted because they know more than you. two, they want to believe they're good people (as long as they don't have to work too hard for it), which biases them towards virtuous causes such as defending the vulnerable. WPATH is a group of self-proclaimed experts who have made it seem very official and scientific that whatever they're doing is protecting a demographic that is said to be
extremely vulnerable (LGBTQ youth). boom, it passes the vibe check.
this is also why things like this get easily handwaved by ideological narratives. which seems more digestible: that you've been blindly complicit in what amounts to institutionalized child abuse on a massive scale, creating a new demographic of people who have had their lives permanently ruined by self-indulgent sociopolitical gaslighting? or that those antagonists that are always fucking everything up, i.e. the internet trolls, Trump voters, Pepe posters, racists, gay-bashers, jew-haters, Bible-thumpers, etc., are just making shit up again to wreak their hateful agenda? nobody's going to sit down and have an unbiased read of all the leaked documents, because the actual substance of the leak doesn't matter, only how it fits in everybody's schema. what people are going to believe has already been decided by what people are willing to believe. all that's left is just more culture war slapfighting.
