Seriously speaking it lets me know the activeness of threads without individually checking them each. It's also interesting to see what people think of my old posts when someone happens to be reading an old thread.

I like them for the same reason but I just check Reactions Received for that without getting my notes spammed.

I don't think this is a good idea. Removing some kind of quantitative assessment of your input would dicourage effortposting (what truly makes a forum), subscribing to every single little thread that you've posted in would just clog your subscriptions, and now some people would probably act intentionally annoying and disruptive just to get quoted.
Giving the choice to disable/enable notifications would be the better option, there's no need to fix what isn't broken. This is like the gay modern Internet tendency of removing the dislike button from every site and making interacting with other people less fun.

Stickers literally only exist so you can react to a post without having to shit up a thread with a redundant reply.

Also people are talking about stickers here so I'll throw my worthless 2 cents in. The trophy system encourages chasing the high like ratios. Maybe the trophies should be something you can only earn because of events not stickers.
