Since I can't find a post since the most recent stream regarding a teenage boy hooking up with an adult woman/the South Park "Nice" episode, I offer a potential explanation why:

When an adult woman comes onto a (post-pubescent) teen boy, if the boy is not receptive and rejects the advance, he is (usually) able to physically resist, since men are stronger than women. The woman has institutional power, but the boy has physical power.

That being said, given the fact that many teen boys are so doped up on their own hormones to the point where many of them are close to "screw anything that moves" aroused for much of their conscious existence at that time in their life, I find it easy to believe a boy would say yes to a woman he's even faintly attracted to even if it's technically illegal.
I can sympathize to a degree. For me, there was at least one teacher/supervisor that I remember being in her late twenties/early thirties that I 100% would have said yes to when I was a high schooler. I bet most men look back at that time in their lives similarly. So when they see a high schooler hook up with an average to above average teacher, or a (post-pubescent) underage male actor hooking up with the older woman you see what happens in that South Park episode. They think "ah man I wish I coulda done that with that one woman when I was that age" and congratulate the kid with "Nice".

Now, contrast this to an adult man coming onto a teenage girl. If the girl is not receptive, the man can very easily physically overpower her. The man has both institutional and physical power over the girl.

You see some people talk about how women get a free pass compared to men when instances like this occur, claiming it's a huge double standard. I disagree. It's apples to oranges. Men and women are different so they're treated differently.

I am not sure it’s the physical overpowering aspect that’s the difference here.

Kids will make rash decisions, driven by hormones or naivety. Girls just as much as boys. It’s not that they’d be physically forced to do anything, but that they’d start or permit something that they aren’t psychologically prepared to handle afterwards, that maybe messes up their school life or life in general.

Even if the experience itself was good at the time for them it was still a boundary breaking affair that is likely to cause problems thereafter.

Maybe less likely to be a bad outcome for boys though. And people will be less likely to think of a female teacher in that situation as “predatory” also.

Makes sense. I definitely look back at a lot of dumb shit I did when I was that age and cringe. I also strongly assert that everyone that's under 18 is a retard. Even the smartest of minors is still retarded because they simply have not had enough life experience to know better on so many things.
I can't imagine what it's like to go through puberty, likely the most tumultuous time in one's life, as a girl. I've asked a lot of my female friends about it to better understand their point of view and it's really fascinating to listen to their perspectives. They also think it's interesting to hear the male point of view, though they have a much easier time understanding since men are usually a lot simpler minded about such things lol

I do know men and women are wired very differently regarding sex and pair bonding. I think this type of thing happens infrequently enough (thankfully) that it's hard to get a good read on it.

Personally as long as the older woman doesn't have some sort of power over the younger guy and the guy is post puberty and consenting I don't care about some teenaged boy fucking an older woman. He is stronger than her and shouldn't be in any physical danger.
