Unless you're killing the mother or child, being sent to prison depending on state doesn't cancel your payments until you get out. In a place like New Jersey you're expect to do something with your savings to set it up so that you can still make payments. You can seek to however modify due to your new circumstances

Some Republicans want a "The Unborn Child Support" bill so you have to pay for child support right after the woman gets pregnant.

paternity isn't legally established before birth so they don't really have a basis for getting you on the hook before that point.
and can you even do paternity testing on an unborn child? i guess technically it's possible but i wonder how invasive and dangerous it would be to obtain DNA samples from child that's still in the womb.
otherwise i guess it would just mean that you do the test right after birth and then he'd have to pay for the last 9 months retroactively.

either way, if it discourages and punishes people for knocking up strangers out of wedlock that's a good thing.

I've been reading more about the bill. What im more worried about is paternity fraud. I'm all for people not having risky sex then have kids they cant take care of. Evidently someone on reddit (god smite me) said there are blood tests that can be used to establish paternity.
The bill really reads like any woman can just come up to you and say "This is the father" and theres nothing you can do. its absolute lunacy. I'll welcome people telling me im wrong of course, because im kinda in disbelief there is something so crazy being proposed.

You can get a dna test at 9 weeks. It's good to get it done as a father as it can help with inheritance issues if your health is shit.

The fact that he doesn't just say "the guy who makes a living lying to the police is lying about this" and invents this conspiracy about how the pests have conducted the most sophisticated, elaborate, and thorough case of identity theft in human history, all to... spend their own money ordering welfare checks on him, is quite simply the best evidence we have that he's doing it himself.
