A Relative of mine had a perforated eardrum. They removed a small graft of skin from behind his ear to patch the eardrum. I’m thinking that’s what has happened here.

Tympanoplasty would make sense with the packed ear and stated concern for kid's hearing, but that's also the first thing you'd expect a mom to say with anything in the general category of "ear surgery."

The poor wee lad pictured, Aidean, is nearly 6 (iirc), he's got unmanaged T1D (his mother feeds him all sorts of shit and I doubt she checks his BG and I don't know if he has insulin) and a year ago his mother Kim said he was diagnosed with Chiari malformation type 2 (I don't think she's lying about this because she's...not the brightest bulb and I doubt she could come up with that diagnosis on her own). Kim has been claiming he has brain cancer, but we're sure she's just saying that to grift for money.

Kim herself has diabetes as well (unsure if T1 or T2), also uncontrolled, which resulted in her last pregnancy (twins in a bicornate uterus) ending in two deformed babies - one a stillborn...thing and the other a girl with sirenomelia (and iirc a severely cleft palate) who died an hour or so after birth. Kim also has the most Cushing's syndrome-ish body I've ever seen.

There's so much more, but that's all I can think of at present...

Poor kid. At least his mother is going the medical grifting route, which means fingerstick BGs at office visits and before procedures, A1C drawn when there's more of a workup.

Not to blithely say that "oh, CPS will fix it," but medical neglect in a kid with diabetes is easy to quantify, and write improvement plans with specific numbers in them.

There have been some scary cases of DMI childhood medical neglect, but the ones that end in death and court cases seem to involve religion and proud, overt action. The Alex Radita case in Canada was an outlier; the parents were just dumb/stubborn, and the kid happened to be lost to follow-up when they moved between provinces.

Sadly he was taken in by Kim's mom (his grandmother). But kim lived there and kept neglecting him. Ol Kim's mom died last year and I doubt they reported it to CPS. I have no idea if Kim's his legal guardian. She has to be to be able to take him to medical appointments and consent I'd guess?

Aiden has been reported to CPS, unfortunately its Arkansas. There are kids trapped in meth labs and being almost beaten/shaken/starved to death. I think he is enrolled in school now, so he at least does have mandated reporters keeping an eye on him.

I'm in the middle of a long compilation of info related to Kim's current squeeze Dalton, the father of the doomed twins but not the biological father of Aidean. I managed to make one short post on it a few weeks ago but life has gotten in the way since. I'm trying to continue but there's a lot of shit to wade through and dozens upon dozens of Facebook profiles. That is one trait shared by all of them.

It's been speculated that Dalton may be molesting Aidean. Dalton comes from a massively troubled background and there's no real evidence of molestation but at very least, Kim and Dalton very inappropriate and unnecessarily sleep (and probably fuck) with 6 year old Aidean in the bed.

I used to post in this thread here and there before I lost a interest in lolcows in general. I haven't been since the early days of her pregnancy because I assumed it was fake, who can blame me.
