Poll: Do you want sticker notifications back? - Not the score, just the notifications.

Should sticker notifications be brought back?

What you were doing before wasn't efficient tho, it was completely retarded. Scrolling through a long lists of reacts to find a thread you want takes a lot more time than just clicking on the thread from the forum list or your profile.
What may be inefficient to one person might be efficient to others though, there's no way to objectively say unless we literally take our stopwatches out, and even then, if they like doing it that way, what does it matter?

two clicks. it literally only takes two clicks to check if you have gotten any new reactions

null is completely right about this feature turning people into retards and i hope notifications never come back, fuck you
Even if I wanted to be this mentally ill and constantly check the "Reactions received" section, it doesn't even work properly. Clicking on any post doesn't take you to the post, but to the beginning of the thread. Besides, there's a difference between "I want to be notified if I get a reaction" vs. "I'm going to check every 5 minutes if I received any new stickers". It's one of those things that if it's there, then great, but if it's not there, going out of your way to see it is just weird. I just want to click at the top of the page to see what I got, I don't want to go to a separate page. Yes it's ONLY 2 CLICKS but when we had a smoother user experience before, this is an intentionally clunky downgrade.

Seeing the general community sentiment of a post you make. Check the post 24-48 hours after it's made and see reacts. It will only get more of the same as time goes on, so there's no need to know about it and more stickers on it after this point are irrelevant.
See above. Here I go, fresh new day, logging into kiwifarms.st, and the first thing I do is go and click top right on my name, then on my profile proper, then on the "postings" tab, then click on all of my posts of the day before, opening multiple tabs, to check on each and every score to see if they increased or not? What you guys are suggesting is far more indicative of a mentally ill, dopamine addicted individual than simply having notifications on.

This is so pathetic and Redditpilled I'm almost speechless. Holy shit
You don't have to be so doomer about it, it's just a fun little thing that takes maybe 1 second off your day. I don't think anyone here cares that much about the stickers, aside from those that very much only had them on as pseudo-bookmarks, those of us who just wanted to know what people thought about a post, or wonder what we said on a post we made ages ago, we'll live, but I found it to be a fun little detail, and fun little details being removed make the site a little less fun, is all, but it's not life or death.

I'm not so sure I want you people making low quality posts in random threads just so you get sticker notifications reminding you to go back. I'm warming up to this even more, I think. Lurk more.
I don't think anyone is going to do that, but mein nigger, you were the main nigga who talked about people using group DMs to avoid "tainting their scores". I'm not saying this is all your fault, but I usually like blaming everything on someone, so this is totally all your fault.

What I miss even more is join dates, the number and especially the color is a good hint as to whether or not you should take a post seriously before you even read it, it's annoying that now you have to click the name.
I think judging people instantly because of their join date is gay, but I did like instantly judging a newfag when they were being newfaggy, and flexing my epic join date :'( The simple pleasures, taken away...
(Why did he even do that one? Seems random. Just hide more shit behind menus, why don't you)

tbh kinda sick of the reddit comparison. reddit's binary up/down system influences the weight of the post with default sorting whereas there's no weight here and posts with large numbers of negative reactions get highlighted as well as well received posts.

ergo being dogpiled on by the community makes the post more visible whereas on reddit, it just vanishes. it is not comparable
:agree::agree::agree: updoots can mean anything, but there's a difference between a post being majority "winner" and majority "informative". I think because of this, it's unfair to say that people who liked getting them are just dopamine addicted. It wasn't just "OMG LET ME CHECK MY POST TO SEE IF THE SCORE IS BIGGER", it was quick feedback for you without the need for someone to write "funny", or "very insightful" or "kill yourself".

A lot of people share this misinterpretation of what I said. I don't use DMs to run away from stickers. I used them for lower quality, more social posting. I have always enjoyed threads with high quality/content density, and have tried to be the kind of poster that fosters that environment. Since Null would prefer to have low quality shitposting in public threads, I'm willing to give that a try. It was the least important point out of at least 10 I made, but it was the one that got action, and now I have nothing to do but laugh.

I had sticker notifications on and I'm doing fine, so I don't really care. There are dozens of people in this thread glad for the DM changes that were too lazy to leave PM chains or turn off invite permissions, so why should I feel bad for their sticker notifications? I'm having fun, which is the only metric for success, especially now.

I agree :agree: :agree: :agree: that it was the least important point, but I think it stuck out the most because it was the most bizarre. I think that's why Dear Feeder clung onto it too.

A true villain arc commencing. I suppose at the end of the day we only have gay furries to really blame for this.

Well yeah exactly. I'm not even kidding lol. In diseased threads especially you need to pay attention to join dates so you can ignore newfags who have come to troll and/or shill.

I'll trade my support for user score and sticker notifications for the ability to spam invite anybody I want into DMs as I please. And 1 million dollars upvotes. These are my conditions.

I couldn't have asked for a better, funnier outcome.

Anybody who is going through dopamine withdrawal should join the DM registry https://kiwifarms.st/threads/open-dm-sign-ups.185331/ the number sticks around and tells you when people are talking at the top of the page!

Okay. I'll rate myself autistic on that one 🧩. My original point still stands. It's very autistic to check these constantly.
Drop down vs new window.

But it's only muh two clicks guys (ignoring how retarded two more clicks is in general).
But at least they don't think it's somehow about a "dopamine rush."
For now at least.

Is anyone even using it for that? Who? You can get high on dopamine by trolling and making people mad at you or say controversial things for the sake of it. Or use any social media. You can do it in 5 seconds on 4chan.

Who's actually coming here just to see what's liked or disliked on their post? Even if they were, nobody would know. You're not gonna fix someone who has an endless need for validation from doing that by removing a sticker. Not that I think most people were even doing that to start with. And if they do have problems like that then they should seek some kind of help. Get a better self image or touch grass or any number of things. Coming here just with no sticker responses probably isn't gonna be the fix for them.
Nigga, you serious? That shit goes on constantly here. Just visit any thread that gets featured or any thread in the Beauty Parlour in general to see sticker farming. People should just be honest instead of pretending to use the sticker notification as a way to jump to their posts. Nobody is fooling anyone with that bullshit.

God, I forgot he sperged over fucking cheese of all things.

Why did I think being reasonable with him made any sense? He banned me for one second, said it was a mistake, and I couldn't really fathom why.
I just want to laugh at retards for my "dopamine hit" while being told offhandedly while looking at multiple threads that another thread is still active.

While also keeping tabs of multiple slowburning threads that usually gets spicy when I'm offline.

While also replying to people in a concise method at mobile because I'm not going to start typing tirades while shitting at work. Also mean sticker reactions funne

Now I'm being told I have to manually do all of this because the method I was doing is wrong while getting yelled at about internet points I didn't even know was a thing until now.

Which I'm apparently not supposed to get confused about at best, MATI at worst because telling people why they're doing what they're doing in the middle of them telling you why is retarded. Also something about efficiency?

And all of this because a bunch of furries ERP'ing doesn't feel safe from my very dangerous autistic puzzle piece gun that does literally nothing.
Ok?

I've also noticed people using stickers a LOT less now so the efficacy of an already wonky feature like highlights is even wonkier because of how few people use it. Or maybe people don't visit outside their comfort zones to different threads anymore.

But it's still too early to tell if this is temporary or not cuz muh dopamine.
